We would like to start by saying that we are amazed by the difficult but brave and selfless decision you are making by starting this journey. We can only imagine the great love, tears, careful thought and prayer it has taken for you to begin this process. We understand that it is of utmost importance to you to find adoptive parents that will not only provide for all of your child’s physical needs but will love and nurture them through all of the highs and lows in life.
We are at a time and place in life where we can provide a very stable, loving and supportive home full of laughter. Our home and family atmosphere is joyful, peaceful and secure. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and love to act up and be silly.
We are honored that you would consider us to raise your child. Should you decide to contact us, it would be a privilege to get to know you and learn about some of your values and important life lessons you would like to pass on to your child. We are committed to pray for and support you however we can throughout this journey and beyond.
We met at a church Christmas party and we were married 14 months later. We’ve been married 21 years now and have watched our love grow and change into a deep, committed love that will last our lifetime. We love to get together with family, snuggle up for movie nights, roast marshmallows on the fire pit, take long nature walks together and go to community holiday festivals. We enjoy going to the mountains and skiing and going to historical locations. Christen likes to play the guitar and piano while Gary likes to work out and study the martial arts.
We moved to our home with plans for growing our family and hosting our large family gatherings. We live in a 5 bedroom, 2 story home in a beautiful neighborhood that has a lot of families with many young children. Our neighborhood has walking trails, tennis and basketball courts, sand volleyball, soccer fields, many playgrounds and there is also a large pool complex with 5 pools and 2 toddler pools. We have a precious little dog named, Sarge, who is a great snuggler and is very social and tenderhearted.
Our Extended Family
We are so fortunate to have family in close proximity to us. Christen’s parents are just a few minutes away and her sisters live within an hour and a half from our house. This makes family gatherings easy. We have 12 nieces and nephews so you can imagine the gatherings are loud and lots of fun! Never a dull moment. We love to get together for the major holidays as well as birthdays, dance recitals, school events, etc. One of our favorite traditions on Christmas morning after the presents are open, is for the grandkids to gather around grandpa as he reads the Christmas story from Luke 2. At the end, we bring in a “Happy Birthday, Jesus” cake and sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles. It’s become a tradition for Gary to rewrite a popular Christmas song with silly lyrics usually spoofing on Grandpa. The grandkids love it!
What Led Us To Adoption
We were both blessed to grow up in loving, nurturing families and we knew from the beginning that we wanted to have children. After many years of trying on our own we realized that we would not be having children from our own bodies. We have friends that have adopted and have seen what beautiful, loving families have been formed. We’ve had in our hearts for some time now that adoption would be a wonderful option for us. We are so excited to start this journey!
