Dear Expectant Mother,
We cannot express in words how much we love you. Every time we try to imagine what you are going through, we tear up. We know you must have so many emotions you’re trying to sort through, as well as details in your life you’re trying to get into place, and the heroism you are displaying by carrying your child is awe-inspiring. We want you to know that you are not alone in this.
We also want you to know that we want to share the world with your child. We promise to educate them in the best schools available, all the way through college and beyond. We promise to show them how to cook (really well, as we are chefs), and how to grow their own vegetables in the same way our grandparents did. We will get them scuba diving and will show them the wonders that lie beneath the surface. We are active and love to walk miles of trails and lakes, with canoes and kayaks, and we will show your child all of these things. They will go with us to NYC to experience food in an elevated way. Hannah will introduce yoga and meditation, so he or she can learn how to comfort and calm themselves as they walk through life. We have a life filled with more love than you can imagine, and we create our lives consciously, every decision made from heart, soul as well as mind.
Thank you, kind woman, for considering us as parents for your child.
We first met in a yoga class, and the love between us was instant and strong. We knew shortly after we met that we were going to spend our life together. Since then, our loving relationship has been the central hub of the incredible life, family, and business we’ve created together over the past seven years. We continue to grow every part of our life in an exciting way with our love as the foundation that everything springs forth. We both feel that finding each other was a miracle, and that love is rare, ever-evolving, and true. We promise to raise your baby in a consistently loving home, as we feel that love is what grows a loving child into a loving adult.
We have the warmest home, both literally and figuratively. In the winter months, there’s always a soft, crackling fire going in the fireplace, while Hannah is in the kitchen making her legendary healing tea (made with cardamom, cinnamon, clove, and ginger). It fills the house each morning and sets the tone for an uplifted day. Amy is an avid jazz fan and chef, so most of the activity happens in our spacious kitchen, with music and homemade meals being prepared. We want to share our warmth, peace, and love with your child. We have an abundance of love (food and music) to give. Our family and home also consists of our two dogs, Pumpkin and Spice, and our cat, Louis Kitton.
Our Extended Family
Our family could not be more excited about our decision to bring a new baby into our lives and home. On Thursdays, Hannah teaches a yoga class, which is baby and kid friendly. Both of our moms attend every week, and it has become a family tradition. After, we always come home, make pizza and cookies, and spend time together as one big family.
Family means everything to us, and we build our world and lives around family. Family also includes our best friends. We look forward to introducing your child to our entire family; they will love them as their own. We look forward to showing your child what we’ve learned along this crazy path of life, all while respecting his or her individual style, dreams, and hopes.
What Led Us To Adoption
We both feel that adoption is meant to be for our lives and family. We have wanted to grow our family for years, and pregnancy did not work for either one of us. We are really excited about the blessing of adoption; we are honored to take these steps and get to know you and be a grounded support to you. Never once did we feel that adoption wasn’t the best option, and once we found LifeLong, we decided to stop trying and to find a birth mother and baby who needed us.
