Heather & Jenna

Family Type: Lesbian
State we live in: Minnesota

dear expectant mother

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us! We are so appreciative and excited about your consideration. We have been planning for this moment for a long time.

We have lived in our house together for 11 years. In that time, there have been countless hours of card games, dancing, family dinners, friend sleepovers, movie watching, cooking, and laughter. Some of our friends say they wish they could watch our daily lives through cameras as our days are filled with lifting each other up through humor. We have a lot of love and laughter to share, along with experiences. We live in a city with endless opportunities for learning and can offer a great education from our school district. There will be many trips to the local libraries with adventures along the walk! We will spend a lot of time outdoors learning about nature while also enjoying trips to the family cabin. We love animals and will teach caring and tenderness through all creatures, especially our 13-year-old rescue dog.

There are so many things and experiences we want to share with your child. Most of all, we want to share our unconditional love, stability, support, fun, and laughter with you and your child. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you.

About Us

Our connection was instant and easy from our first meeting. We support each other and laugh each day. Heather’s favorite things about Jenna are her wit, her constant curiosity to learn, and how tender and empathetic she is to animals and others. Some of Jenna’s favorite things about Heather are her intelligence and knowledge about the world around her, fierce love of and dedication to family, and ability to make her laugh with strange songs and dances every day. Our constant banter with a touch of sarcasm makes life easier even when we are sad or facing life's challenges. Jenna has worked in healthcare for 12 years. Her job is flexible and allows her to work only four days a week. Heather has worked in higher education administration at the same university for 16 years. Both jobs support our passion for helping others.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a two-story, three-bedroom home in a diverse urban neighborhood, with a fenced-in backyard and a park across the road. We have a small hill in the front for sledding in the winter and plenty of room for making a snowman! There is a huge old tree that provides many leaves in the fall for raking and jumping into. Our neighborhood, which is in a wonderful school district, has many family-oriented activities year round. There are block parties, parades, sports, ice skating, and movies in the park. We also have access to multiple lakes with beaches and parks with hiking and biking trails. There are also museums and fun indoor activities all around us during our four seasons!

Our Extended Family

We live within a quick bike ride of all of Heather’s three brothers’ homes. This provides us with many weekend BBQs and coffee on our patio at a moment’s notice. We see Jenna’s brother and mom most often at the family cabin, where we spend long weekends having fish frys, swimming, sitting by the fire, and reading in the hammock. Our parents visit often, and Heather’s mom and dad dream and pray of the day they can spoil a grandchild. Our friends and family have been very supportive and hopeful as we share this experience.

Jenna’s family shines when it comes to the fun and “spooky” of Halloween, and Heather’s mom is the matriarch of the extended family, hosting Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. We celebrate holidays with a lot of food, games, presents, gentle teasing, and love.

What Led Us To Adoption

Since the beginning of our relationship, we always knew we had the same goal and dream to become parents. We waited until we were financially and emotionally ready to begin our journey. We chose to try biologically through a fertility clinic for three years. There was a time when all of our hopes and dreams came true and we became pregnant! Unfortunately, it didn’t end the way we had hoped, but the miscarriage led us to LifeLong Adoption. We are positive this is the road we were meant to be on, and we couldn’t be more excited! Both of us have close friends who were adopted, and we have seen firsthand the beautiful, successful people they have become through the gift of adoption.
