Jason & Abby

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: Washington

dear expectant mother

Thank you so much for considering us as parents for your baby, a consideration that already makes us feel fortunate. Truthfully, we do not know all of what you are feeling as you make your decision regarding adoption, but we recognize it is not an easy one. We hope we can offer you the support you need and the comfort knowing we can be parents to your child that you would be proud of, providing them support, encouragement, and love so they grow to be an amazing human being.

Abby was adopted at birth. Her adoptive parents shared her adoption story with her from the moment she was born, and this story has been a natural part of her existence. Abby has always had deep feelings of gratitude, respect, and admiration for her birthmother and the difficult and loving decision she made. They have a great relationship today.

We have built a family of love, laughter, compassion, adventure, and curiosity. We believe in fairness, equality, and engagement in the world to make it an even better place for our daughter and your child. We look forward to sharing the natural world, diverse peoples, different countries, and a fiercely loving community of friends and family with your child. The opportunity to raise another child together and grow our family puts smiles on our faces and butterflies in our stomachs.

Thank you again for considering us as parents for your baby.

About Us

We are Abby and Jason, a loving Pacific Northwest couple who met ten years ago. Jason was working in a mountain town in central Washington at a river conservation organization, and Abby was creating exhibits for museums while raising her one-year-old daughter a few hours away. After a long-distance relationship, Jason moved to be with the two of them…an irresistible package deal. We have a joyful and caring relationship, and family is very important in our lives. Abby was adopted at birth, and it has always been a natural part of our family’s story. We are a loving unit who enjoy bike rides, music, dancing, movies, theater, family meals, camping, and snow adventures. We have built a strong community of friends that surround us and are our extended family. Laughter is a constant in our home.

Our Home & Pets

We own a four-bedroom house with a large backyard in a wonderful neighborhood. There are three parks nearby, the ocean, an elementary school, a library, restaurants, bookstores, and other shops within a short walking distance. We also live close to the zoo and tons of museums. We spend a lot of time with friends in our outdoor living area gathered around our firepit. Our family includes our sweet dog, Luna, and our furry two-year-old cat, ZuZu. There is so much we look forward to sharing!

Our Extended Family

We take vacations with our extended family at the beach and enjoy winter gatherings for the holidays with aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. Holidays are very special for our family. They always involve a huge meal and lots of traditions. We have an entire guest area in our home for friends and family who come stay with us from out of town for events. Everyone is very excited for us to continue growing our family.

In addition to holiday traditions, we make sure to spend time sharing gratitude each day. We have breakfast together in the morning and dinner together every night. Every evening around our table, we talk to each about what was special or difficult during our day. We spend a lot of time together during the week and weekends as a family. We love bicycling, skiing, visiting museums, reading, playing records, watching movies, playing board games, and eating on the deck while watching the sun slip into the ocean. Our summers include camping trips and cabin adventures on the West Coast and a trip to the East Coast to gather with family and spend plenty of time in swimming pools. We look forward to your baby being part of these adventures.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have wanted to grow our family for so long, and adoption has been a natural choice. Abby and her sister were both adopted and grew up feeling proud of their birth stories. It’s also natural for us because in our upbringing, people who were not biologically related to us were essential to our lives. Jason was raised by his mom and stepfather, and Jason is now a father to Abby’s daughter. Jason has two cousins who are adopted. Our families are bound by love. Our backgrounds and our lives make us convinced adoption is the perfect way to grow our family.
