Jason & Matthew

Family Type: Gay
State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as parents to your child. We admire the strength it must take to make this decision for your baby and are honored you would think of us.

Being parents has been a dream of ours for as long as we’ve been together. In our care, your child would be part of a very loving family. We would provide endless amounts of love, guidance, and protection, and they would be part of a large family with doting grandparents, aunts and uncles excited to take them on adventures, and cousins ready to play! We have structured our work, our home, and our lives to be able to give a child all the love we can. In our home, we value kindness, love, empathy, and education. We would strive to teach them these things.

Both of us would bring unique traits to your child’s life. Matthew can teach them how to problem solve, to fix seemingly anything that breaks, and to rock climb. Jason can show them how to cook, to grow flowers and food, and to draw. We can’t wait to run with your child in the garden, to help them hang ornaments on the Christmas tree in the living room, or to curl up on the couch with popcorn and watch a favorite movie.

Thank you again for considering us.

We would provide endless amounts of love, guidance, and protection, and they would be part of a large family with doting grandparents, aunts and uncles excited to take them on adventures, and cousins ready to play!

About Us

Matthew is a stylist at a local salon, and Jason is a landscape designer. We met ten years ago when a mutual friend recommended Matthew’s skills. We were friends for nearly a year before our first date. Once we started dating, we knew this was something special, and six months later, we had moved into our first apartment together. In 2015 we made it official and tied the knot surrounded by our closest friends and family. It was a magical day, and we still think of it often. After coming home from Oregon, we began our hunt for a house. We were lucky to find a home in a neighborhood that feels like it was made for us. It doesn’t feel like a decade has passed, but it has. We’ve worked so hard to build the best life we can for our family!

Our Home & Pets

Our home is in a fun, diverse, historic neighborhood not far from downtown. It’s a two-bedroom, one-bath home with a large yard. We have spent many weekends improving our home for our future family. We have a passion for gardening and spend much of our time growing food, planting flowers, and, in the summer, raising butterflies. We’ve planted many plants to attract birds and butterflies so our garden is always filled with life. We live in a great school district. We share our abode with our dog, a Labrador named Lady, and our cat named Q-Bert. Both are sweet and loving, and Q-Bert rules the roost. We spend many of our afternoons walking our dog and chatting with our neighbors.

Our Extended Family

We both have amazing family members, from brothers and sisters to parents and grandparents. Jason has a twin brother, and Matthew has two brothers and a sister. Our relationships with our siblings are some of our strongest friendships.

Every holiday is spent with family. They are jam-packed with decorations, food, music, and laughter. We like to spend so much time with family that we don't wait for holidays to see them and often visit on weekends. We go on many of our vacations with family members as well. We can’t wait to be able to bring a child on camping trips with Matthew’s sister and her husband or the special Maui trip Jason’s family has been going on for three generations.

Our parents and siblings are thrilled at the prospect of becoming grandparents, uncles, and aunts. We intend for our family to be important people in our children’s lives, participating in day-to-day life, major events, and holidays. Jason’s parents have even considered getting an RV so they can be closer and spend as much time with their grandchildren as possible. There’s no doubt in our minds that our children will experience an enormous amount of love from our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always known we wanted children. When we have discussed the many different paths to having children, adoption has always been what we are drawn to. Jason’s childhood friend group was almost entirely children who were adopted, and Matthew comes from a blended family. For us, familial bonds have never been strictly about blood but about love and caring. Adopting a child and becoming parents would be the most amazing thing we can imagine doing with our lives.
