dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for taking your time to review our profile and learn about us. We can only imagine how difficult this decision must be, and we respect the process you must be going through to choose the best life for your baby. We are so grateful for your consideration of us as parents, and we hope to ease your heart and mind.

As a family, we believe in honesty and gentleness. We face challenges together with strong communication, and we solve problems in a way that works for everyone. We believe in settling disagreements calmly. Most importantly, we love each other deeply, and we are eager to share that love with another child.

If you choose us as parents, your child will grow up in a home full of love, learning, and fun, and we will encourage them to be themselves fully. They will be free to follow their dreams. We believe we have a lot to offer your child, and we’re excited to give your baby every advantage. Thank you, again, for getting to know a little about us. We can’t wait to get to know you.

With love,
Jessica & Kate

About Us

We have been together for fifteen years, having met through a college friend, and we’ve been married for thirteen years. Kate is an analytics consultant at a non-profit healthcare system, and she enjoys reading, hiking, playing with our dog Penelope, and drinking coffee and tea. Jessica works as a mental health therapist, and she loves music and concerts. She enjoys reading, playing video games, and watching and playing tennis regularly, which she has done since she was ten years old. We have a two-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, who loves Disney songs, imaginative play, animals, and making art. Brooklyn is independent, affectionate, and a natural leader. Many friends have commented to us that she will make a great big sister, and we wholeheartedly agree! As a family, we love to listen to music and sing together, go on hikes and walks in parks, and read (Curious George is a current fave).

Our Home & Pets

We live in a three-bedroom townhouse in a quiet community in the suburbs. Many of our neighbors are families like us, and we love going for walks to enjoy the morning, afternoon, and evening air. We have a cat, Perry, and a dog, Penelope, both of whom were adopted from rescue organizations. We like to sit and read or fill the home with the smell of cooking and the sound of music. There is no time when our home isn’t warm and welcoming to family and friends.

Our Extended Family

We love to get together with Jessica’s sisters and their families for Christmas to share our meal and exchange presents. We also have a family reunion with extended family (everyone from great-grandparents down!) every Fourth of July, where we grill, shoot off fireworks, and spend all day sitting and talking. The reunion even has two tournaments, one for cornhole and one for Spades, which Jessica coordinates. As you can imagine, getting roughly 60 people of all ages to focus on where they need to be and when is quite a task!

Besides biological family, we are also very close with Kate’s best friend and her family. She and Kate have been best friends since college, and they consider themselves sisters. This family has two children, who are both homeschooled like Kate was. We love hanging out with them, celebrating birthdays and holidays together, and attending their special events, like baseball games and performances. Kate has a sister and two cousins with whom she is close.

What Led Us To Adoption

Ever since we married, it’s been our dream to raise children. We have always been around children, whether through our family, our friends, or the jobs we have had. We have a two-year-old daughter we know will be a great big sister, and we would love to add to our family with another child. We both value community and helping others, so adoption feels like a great fit for us. More than anything, we just want to welcome a child into our home and our hearts.
