Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you for considering us for the opportunity to become a family. We want you to know we understand your decision to choose adoption is not an easy one, and we offer you our support and want to help you in any way possible to make the right decision for you and your baby.
Some things we are looking forward to as parents are after-school sports and clubs; teaching him or her how to cook, swim, and ride a bike; and never holding back their imagination during playtime. Whether it’s saving the universe as superheroes or dressed up at a princess tea party, their imagination will only be nourished as we play along in their make-believe worlds. Our goal is to instill in them the best of morals and ethics, like giving back to the community and helping the less fortunate. We know raising a child can be tough, but we have a strong network of family and friends to help us raise and teach this child. With us, every minute of every day, your child will be cherished, loved, and given the best of opportunities in the hopes that they will live a full and happy life.
Words cannot express how thankful we are to you. Thank you for considering to bless us with this opportunity to become parents and become a family.
We are Joey and Charlee, and we are both in the Navy. Joey works on the flight decks of the aircraft carriers, and Charlee works in the hospitals as a medic. We met in 2014 through a mutual friend, and from the beginning, we haven’t been able to resist each other. We both enjoy experiencing local attractions and events, plays at the theater, art exhibits, day trips to the beach, and traveling. Places we’ve traveled to include Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Dubai, and wherever we go, we are always sure to try unique hotels. At home, Joey enjoys his love of cooking and Charlee enjoys making our house a home. At family gatherings, you can always count on us to play and spend more time with the kids than chit-chat with the adults. All of our friends and family have always supported us, and we are so excited for this next step.
Our home is nestled in the rolling hills of sunny southern California. Here, we are blessed with wonderful weather year-round, beaches only a short drive away, lots of activities and attractions for all age groups, and many excellent school districts nearby. Our home is a brand-new two-bedroom apartment, and our complex hosts weekly get-togethers like family movie night, and it even has an indoor playground, bowling alley, and kid-friendly wading pools! Theme parks at a close driving distance include Sea World, Legoland, Disneyland, and Knott’s Berry Farm. No matter what time of year it is or what occasion it is, there is always an exciting and fun place to go.
Our Extended Family
Charlee’s side of the family lives in northern California, in the Bay Area. This playful and energetic family is always full of laughter and excitement. The holidays are the time when this family makes certain to come together no matter what, especially for the Thanksgiving feast held every year at Uncle Phil’s.
Joey’s father’s side of the family all live here in southern California, and there are many cousins, aunts, and uncles. They are very vibrant and full of laughter, and nothing can come between this tight-knit family. Joey is the oldest of his two brothers, who both live in Colorado, and we’re especially close with his mom’s side, who live in Arizona. On this side of the family, they are all very passionate and hard-working, and they love to be social and are gifted at making new friends quickly.
What Led Us To Adoption
Ever since the beginning of our relationship, we have felt the calling to start our own family. Through spending time with our nephew, god-niece, and the children of family and friends, the joy of being around children has grown stronger. The joy we feel from their innocence and silliness, and comforting them when they’re sad or hurt, cannot be compared to anything else in this world. We have several close friends who were adopted themselves, and in speaking with them about their lives, our decision to adopt was only reinforced. For us, adoption is one step closer to being able to fulfill our deep calling and yearning to be parents.
