Family Type: Traditional
State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

We'd like to start by saying, “Bless you!” We can only imagine the strength, courage, and selflessness it takes to choose adoption, and we thank you for even considering us as parents for your baby.

We are extremely happy and proud of the life we share together and want nothing more than to see our family grow. We believe it’s a huge honor and privilege to become adoptive parents, and we would accept our responsibilities to you and your child with the utmost respect and commitment.

We know life isn't always easy and has its ups and downs, but we promise to be there for the good times and bad. We'll wipe away their tears, make them laugh when they want to cry, and show them how truly special they are when they are their own worst critic. We, along with our families, will love them unconditionally and will support them in anything they want to do or be. We will forever be their greatest fans!

Know that we've been thinking about you and praying for you and your baby from the moment we officially decided adoption was what we were meant to do. If you choose us, we'll consider ourselves the luckiest couple in the world.

If you choose us, we'll consider ourselves the luckiest couple in the world.

About Us

Hi there! The first thing we'd love for you to know about us is that we are goofy and fun. We're serious when we need to be, but we also know not to sweat the small stuff. We’ve been together for nine years and got married in 2016. We met here in California, grabbed mint and chip ice cream together, and fell in love. John is a nuclear planner, and in his free time, he enjoys working on DIY projects and listening to music. Ashley is a medical assistant at a private practice, and she enjoys reading and going on hikes. Together we love to go for bike rides and to check out the local farmers markets. We also enjoy going to the nearby beaches, walking our two dogs, and listening to live music.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a cute town, not far from the beach, in a single-story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a bonus room. We also have a fenced-in backyard with an enclosed patio. We live in a family-friendly neighborhood and are walking distance to the elementary school and a nearby park. We have two medium-sized hypoallergenic labradoodles who are very friendly and love to cuddle. They are three years old and almost a year old.

Our Extended Family

Family is incredibly important to us. Both of us were raised by loving parents who have each been married for over 30 years. John is an only child, but his extended family is large. They all make a point to stay in touch and to get together whenever they can. Ashley has one younger brother, whom she is close to, and most of her extended family is still in California; we are thankful we get to visit with them often. Both of our families are excited for us and our journey to grow our family.

We love celebrating with family, but our two favorite holidays would have to be Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every Thanksgiving, our family gets together to watch football, play games, take lots of pictures, and, of course, enjoy a big meal. The Sunday after Thanksgiving we always invite our closest friends and their kids over to listen to Christmas music and put up the Christmas decorations on our tree. For Christmas, we usually head back to Michigan to be with John's parents and more family, and most years we are lucky to experience a white Christmas.

What Led Us To Adoption

We originally talked about having a biological baby and also adopting. However, with Ashley's high blood pressure, we weren't sure it would be safe for her to get pregnant. We tried for eight months, but her blood pressure wouldn't stay down; we were told to go back on the medication and to stop trying. Thankfully, back on the medication, Ashley's blood pressure is stable and she's healthy. God’s bigger plan is for us to adopt, and we couldn't be more excited for this journey.
