Dear Expectant Mother,
As we sit to write this letter, our hearts are pounding with excitement and emotion. We know how much lives can change because of adoption, and we cannot wait for all of our lives to be changed forever, in an amazing way. We understand that you’re looking for a wonderful home and future for your child. We are looking to share our love and lives with that child and to build our loving family. It just may be that we are looking for each other.
When we found ourselves falling in love with each other, we realized we both loved the same words, written by LR Knost, and we’d love to share them with you:
"Life is amazing. And then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again.
And in between the amazing and the awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine.
Breath in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living heart-breaking, soul-healing, amazing , awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful."
Should you choose us… please know that we are extremely grateful for the sacrifices you are making. We promise is to love your child unconditionally and raise him/her to find their passions and talents. It is an honor that you are taking the time to learn about our family. We admire your courage and are ready to invite your little one into our hearts. Finally, please always remember… not all super heros wear capes!
Laura is a dedicated physician who takes care of expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies at an inner city hospital. She is the most kindhearted, compassionate person you’ll ever meet and is always willing to go the extra mile. Kara is a Licenced Practical Nurse and is currently a respiratory therapy student finishing her B.S. degree. We spend as much time as possible with our family, including Kara’s 12 nieces and nephews, who look forward to having a new cousin soon. We care very much about the health and welfare of people, especially those who are less fortunate than us, and we work hard as a team to help those in need. We love and value our very diverse community. Our optimistic outlook on life enables us to live and love all that the world has to offer.
We have built a wonderful life in a lovely three-bedroom, 3.5-bath townhouse in the center of a major city with our dog Cooper, whom we lovingly call “Super Cooper.” Our home is always filled with family, friends, love, and happiness. We love our city and the wonderful things it has to offer. The location of our home is not only close to parks and playgrounds but it’s also close to the zoo and museums. There is also a wonderful theater district, Chinatown, sports arenas, art museums, festivals, and amazing restaurants. We are an hour away from the beach and two hours from the mountains. We are so excited to share all the things we love about our city with your child.
Our Extended Family
We are extremely close to both of our families, who cannot wait to meet and welcome a new bundle of joy. Kara has fond memories of her mother telling stories by a bonfire in the back yard and making up silly songs about each of her children. To this day, each of her sisters and brothers sing these songs to their children. We are excited to introduce the songs and stories to your child.
Laura has fond memories of her family’s travels around the world. Learning about and experiencing new cultures and histories through traveling has been and continues to be a major part of Laura’s family. Education and the importance of family are demonstrated by her loving, kind, hardworking parents. They cannot wait to meet their first grandchild and welcome him or her into their family.
What Led Us To Adoption
Adoption has a special place in our hearts. We are excited at the opportunity to become mothers and grow our family. We want to start a family because of the families we were both blessed with growing up. Our parents were wonderful about educating us about other cultures and people. They showed us the importance of inclusiveness and acceptance, and because of this, we feel the call to adopt. Our hope is to provide a child with a unique, cultured home. We are truly honored to be walking this journey with you.
