Dear Expectant Mother,
It’s difficult to know where to start when writing to someone we already feel so much love and appreciation for. We cannot wait to meet you and surround you and your baby with endless respect, support, and love. We believe it truly takes a village, and we couldn’t feel more blessed that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. If you were to choose us, we promise to always have your back and honor you every day. We love the idea of sharing milestones and stories with you throughout the years. There will never be a day you or your child will not feel love from us.
As adoptive parents, we hope to raise your child to be strong, kind, and fair. We will work to show him or her that life is a gift and there is beauty everywhere. We are committed to celebrating what makes your child unique. We cannot wait to play chase in our backyard, teach him or her to play the piano, and read stories at bedtime, and we will provide many opportunities for your child to explore his or her interests and talents.
We so look forward to meeting you and beginning what we expect to be a lifelong connection. Our appreciation, respect, and understanding for you will never waiver. In addition, your love for your child will always be acknowledged and validated. Thank you for considering us to be a part of your lives.
We met while working together in 2010 and immediately became friends. After a few years, we confessed our true feelings for each other and we’ve never looked back. We really compliment each other! Lisa brings the energy and creativity. She is always finding a fun project to work on for the house, and she’s even designed and built several pieces of furniture that we just love! She played sports in college and continues to enjoy anything sporty now. She definitely knows how to work hard and play hard! On the other hand, Kasey brings the calm and grace. She is always caring for those around her, which includes people and animals! She loves hosting family and friends at our house for meals or games. She’s always learning, too, and can often be found with a book in her hand and a dog in her lap. She truly puts love into everything that she does.
We recently moved into a beautiful new home that’s perfect for us. Our home has large entertaining spaces perfect for holidays with family. We are already imagining a little one taking his or her first steps and building blanket-forts in our family room. We have almost two acres of land that includes mature trees, a vegetable garden, and tons of space to explore and play. We are surrounded by state-of-the-art schools, parks, and walking trails. Our community is culturally diverse and very close-knit. Over the years, we have rescued three sweet dogs: Kirby, Ernie, and Opie. They are very friendly and just love people!
Our Extended Family
We were both blessed with amazing and supportive families. While neither of our parents live in the same state as us, we continue to be close with them through frequent visits, phone calls, and Facetime. Lisa’s parents, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew live in Arizona. Her family is known for large family dinners, where there is always too much food and endless laughter. Lisa gets her love of sports from her dad. Whenever they’re together, they are always challenging each other to a competition in a variety of sports.
Kasey’s parents and younger sister live in Michigan. She also has an older brother who lives in the same city as we do. We love spending time with her brother and sister-in-law exploring new restaurants and enjoying our city. Her family loves Notre Dame football, too, so on any Saturday in the fall, the whole family can be found cheering on the Fighting Irish while wearing matching t-shirts!
We have also been blessed with an amazing group of friends who surround us with love and acceptance. In many ways, our friends have become family to us. We are lucky to have friends that vary in occupation, age, heritage, and experience.
What Led Us To Adoption
From the start of our relationship, we knew that we both wanted to be moms one day. Adoption was an easy decision for us and truly felt right in our hearts. We’ve seen the positive way adoption has grown the families of some of our friends, and we have patiently waited for the time to be right for us to welcome a new life into our home. We couldn’t be more hopeful or excited for our family to grow through adoption.
