Dear Expectant Mother,
It’s difficult to put into words our admiration and appreciation for you as you consider selecting adoptive parents for your child. Your decision is selfless and full of love and compassion for your child, and that is what we promise in return. We will love with all our heart, support with endless compassion, and we will always give all of ourselves.
Your child will join a household full of happiness and joy. We love to spend time together as a family, and whether we’re going out or staying in, we seek to laugh with each other, learn about each other, and share all of the ups and downs. Your child will never be without a hand to hold.
Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We’re excited to embark on our next chapter with a new addition.
Our fairy tale started in Ohio, when Brandi moved into the house four doors down from Kathy. We instantly became best friends, and our relationship blossomed. We both served in the Navy; Kathy only spent seven years on active duty, while Brandi had a wildly successful career and retired as a highly decorated senior chief after over 22 years of active duty. We got married in 2014 and adopted our daughter, Olivia, about two years later. Olivia is the light of our life and is going to be a fantastic big sister. We moved to Indiana about a year ago when Kathy accepted a promotion. We love exploring the area, looking for new parks, great places to eat, and new adventures for the family. Our favorite spots include the zoo and children’s museum!
As the adage says, our house is a home: it’s warm, cozy and full of love. We have five bedrooms and five bathrooms, a fully furnished basement, and a fantastic playroom. We love spending time outside, playing in the yard and barbecuing with friends and family. We live in a wonderful neighborhood, with an elementary school about three blocks away that has a great playground. There’s also a beautiful community house with a pool down the street and lots of green space for kids to run and play. We love going to the neighborhood restaurant during the week, supporting local businesses and attending our town carnivals and holiday events. We also share the house with two dogs and two cats, all of whom love Olivia.
Our Extended Family
We’re blessed with an extremely supportive and wonderful family. Kathy grew up in the Chicagoland area. Her parents and younger sister still live outside of Chicago, and her brother is in Iowa. Olivia has four cousins on Kathy’s side of the family, and we all vacation together every summer, alternating between the most magical place on earth, Disney World, and a beautiful beach vacation.
Brandi grew up in the Florida panhandle, and eventually her family moved to Ohio, where her parents still reside. Her older and younger brother are still in Ohio, and her sister is in Utah. Brandi and her younger brother are the best of friends, and Brandi has eleven nieces and nephews who are the light of her life. While it’s difficult to get to Utah more than once a year, we embrace technology and FaceTime to stay connected!
We love hosting Thanksgiving at our house and open our doors to any family or friends who want to join us for a day full of food, fun, and family traditions. We spend Christmas as a family, opening stockings and gifts in front of the fire, in the glow of the Christmas tree. We look forward to sharing our family traditions with our newest addition!
Our Adoption Story
We’ve both always wanted to be moms. We were blessed with the opportunity to adopt our daughter, Olivia, a little over two years ago, and it’s been the best decision and experience of our lives. We’re excited to expand our family, and we know that adoption is, and will always be, the right choice for us.
