Dear Expectant Mother,
We would be so very grateful for the opportunity to welcome your child into our home. We can only imagine how difficult this decision must be for you, and we appreciate how much careful consideration and emotion must have gone into it. We dreamed of building our family through adoption after we were unable to conceive on our own and hoped we would be fortunate enough to find a birth mother who would give us this opportunity.
We both grew up in warm, loving homes, and we have always looked forward to being able to provide that same safe and comfortable environment for our own family. Nothing will be more important to us than giving your child the security and opportunity to discover themselves and their world. We will provide unconditional love, emotional support, and a safe and stable home. We will work to understand their interests, hopes, and fears and do our best to support their growth and development. We will nurture a love of learning, provide an excellent education, and be active in the child’s school and extracurricular activities. There are so many things we want to share with your child, and wherever their passions lead, we will be there with guidance and encouragement.
Thank you for this amazing gift and the opportunity to grow our family. This exciting next step in our lives would not be possible without you.
We’re a fun-loving couple who fill each other’s lives with laughter. Kimberly is a program manager at a large government contractor, and Jason develops software for a Fortune 500 company. We both love spending time outdoors, having dinner with family and friends, and enjoying movie nights at home. We enjoy cooking and trying new foods out on the town, and we love listening to live music whenever we get the chance. Jason plays the cello, plays golf and basketball, and writes code for fun. Kimberly sings, plays guitar, and works out at the gym regularly. We are teammates in every sense of the word. From cooking to planting flowers in the backyard and traveling, everything's better when we do it together. We continue to learn from each other and grow as a couple each day.
We live on a quiet cul-de-sac in a large suburb in northern Virginia. Our three-level home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a family room, and a unique outdoor space with lots of seating. Our warm home is a place where people feel welcomed and comfortable. The living space is open, with large windows that let in lots of light. We love spending weekends in the backyard, grilling out, and sitting around the fire pit on cooler evenings. We have many neighbors with young children, and it is the kind of community where people look out for each other. Just a short walk from our front door is a park, a jogging/bike path, and a skate park.
Our Extended Family
We both have large extended families with lots of siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. We are close with our family, and we speak regularly with those who are not local. We spend most holidays with family, sometimes enjoying two Thanksgiving feasts so we are able to see everyone. We love opening presents together on Christmas morning, sitting down for a big breakfast with the family, and watching our nieces and nephews play with their new toys.
Each summer, our family gathers at a beach house in North Carolina to enjoy a week of lively dinners, games nights, jet ski excursions, and time at the beach. It is a great opportunity to catch up on each other’s lives and talk about our plans for the future.
Our niece Taylor also spends one week in our home each summer. We love planning a fun-filled week for her that includes trips to local museums, canoe rides, nature walks, and concerts. We also created a game where we go to the grocery store and each pick out three new foods we have never tried. Then we try to think of creative ways to prepare the foods and try them together.
What Led Us To Adoption
We want to experience the joy of helping a child learn, grow, and find happiness. We have a passion for life and all of the positive experiences it has to offer, and we are excited to share ours with a child. We began looking into adoption after we were unable to conceive through fertility treatment. We realized that adoption would allow us to achieve our goal of growing our family. Our family and friends have strongly encouraged us to adopt, and they are excited to be a part of this journey with us.
