dear expectant mother

We cannot begin to imagine the feelings and emotions going through your mind and body right now, and we recognize the bravery it takes to consider adoption. We know the decision before you is a difficult one, so we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us to raise your baby. We would be so honored to be chosen and would provide your baby with love and support. We offer your baby a lifetime of unconditional love, honesty, loyalty, laughter, understanding, and positive affirmations for who they choose to be in life. We have a large, loving extended family that will also surround your baby with love and acceptance.

We are both educators and have devoted our lives to children. Our devotion to and love of children has led us to want to build a family of our own. We love to travel and explore new places, meet new people, and gather new experiences. We would love to share these things with your child as well as simple things like eating dinner together daily, going to watch movies, playing in the snow, and game nights.

We know you want the best for your baby, and we hope this brief information about us will show you who we are and who we will be as parents to your child.

We love to laugh and have fun, yet we also enjoy quiet nights at home.

About Us

Our connection started in graduate school. We took a couple of classes together and bonded over our love of music and becoming better teachers. From the beginning, we have enjoyed exploring new cities, new eateries, and new experiences, such as escape games, trampoline parks, riding scooters, and snorkeling. Now, after two years of dating and three years married, we still enjoy these same pleasures of life with the addition of planning for our future. We are both still very involved in music education, Latasha as a college professor and Kristen as a public school teacher. Our involvement in music remains the connecting fiber that draws us to one another. Additionally, we enjoy meeting new people from diverse backgrounds, playing board games, watching television, and going to see movies. We love to laugh and have fun, yet we also enjoy quiet nights at home.

Our Home

We live in a spacious three-bedroom townhome in Ohio in a charming neighborhood with lots of walking trails, community events for children, and numerous festivals. We have access to cities big and small, all within an hour of our home. Our area boasts some of the best K-12 school districts in the state. Our neighborhood is close to many eateries yet is tucked away in a quiet location. It’s the type of place where your neighbors come over to introduce themselves when you’re new to the area.

Our Extended Family

We are family-oriented people and are beyond fortunate to know we have family that will do everything they can to support us. Our extended family is overjoyed about the possibility of adding to the family and can’t wait to spoil the little one. Their faces light up at the very mention of “baby.”

We each have brothers who are about two years older than us. We enjoy spending time with our nieces, nephews, and cousins whenever we can. Connections with our late grandparents led us to want to foster wonderful relationships between our parents and our child. We spend Christmas visiting both of our families. We also arrange and participate in family trips.

Our extended family goes beyond that of biological connection. We have deep connections with people whom we knew before our relationship and those we met as a couple. Phone conversations and special visits help us remain close. Our extended family loves to laugh, play games, and be silly with each other. While we love having a good time, we know our family members will be there for us during times of sadness and difficulty, and we will do the same for them.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have talked about becoming parents for several years, and adoption has always felt right for us. In working daily with youth, we both want to support the young people in our lives (both in our family and the students we teach) so they can make decisions in their lives based on love and kindness but also in strength and with a willingness to stand up for what they believe in. We have love for the students we teach but want to share a deeper love with a child of our own. So many families have been brought together by adoption, and we know we have a great network of love and support to be amazing parents.
