We want to thank you for reading our story. We think you are truly courageous for taking the time and considering an adoption plan for your precious baby. It would mean the world to us to begin our forever family because we have so much love to give to a child. If you choose us as the adoptive parents for your child, it would be the best blessing we could hope for. We do not want to give up on our dream of a family. We hope that you choose us to be on this journey with you! Thank you.
Our names are Lisa and Anthony. We are an active couple who loves the outdoors. We love hiking, going to the beach and the park, as well as enjoying any kind of water activities. We love bringing our dog Max with us on these trips. Anthony has been in the United States Air Force for 16 years. He was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. He is an avid lover of music, arts, and sports, and he is loyal to his family and friends. Lisa is from Miami, Florida, and she is an Occupational Therapist. She loves helping others both in and out of her profession. She enjoys traveling and seeing new places.
We knew each other as children. Anthony’s father worked for Lisa’s father. We would see each other for summers in Jamaica or Florida. We grew apart, due to college, but were reconnected at a party. We rekindled our relationship. We moved together to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and married shortly afterward.
We live in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in a family neighborhood. It is a military neighborhood and a very family-oriented area. We have a dog named Max who brings much joy to our lives. He is an active Pomeranian-Papillon mix, and he loves children. He likes to snuggle, go for long walks, and just play. We take Max with us pretty much everywhere we can.
Our Extended Family
Our family is diverse in many respects. Anthony is half-Jamaican and half-Italian, born and raised in Jamaica. Lisa is half-Chinese and half-Jamaican, born in Miami, FL. We come from a multicultural, multi-heritage background, and we have many traditions.
Lisa has a huge family. Her mother is one of eleven children and her father is one of six, making the extended family very large. We have many get-togethers throughout the year with the tradition of Jamaican & Chinese-Jamaican food. Lisa is one of four siblings. We all get together when we are in town together. We love to sit and talk about our childhood. Lisa’s sister has a son who we are very close too. Her mother has a tradition of throwing an annual Christmas Eve dinner where she invites the extended family.
Anthony comes from a smaller family with one other sibling. His sister Terri is married to a Jamaican (Steven), and they have two sons (Zander, Zachary). We all talk consistently on Facetime. His mother is Jamaican, raised as an only child. His father is deceased but came from an Italian family of two other brothers. They were raised on hard work, good food, and great family values.
What Led Us To Adoption
The road to beginning our family has been a long and difficult journey. We have been trying to conceive for the last six years and have had six miscarriages. We have tried naturally, IVF, donor eggs, and surrogacy. Sadly, Lisa has come to find out that she is not able to carry to full term. Lisa was adopted, and she has grown up in a very beautiful home with three other siblings, two of whom were also adopted. We now want to begin a family of our own and want to provide love and stability for a child. We want to raise a child in a home where he or she will be given every opportunity to succeed.
