dear expectant mother

I address you as that because you always will be. You are the mom who is giving life to a precious baby, possibly the baby who is making my dreams come true of becoming a mom myself. You may be struggling in your decision right now, or you may already know exactly what you want and need in this moment. I am here regardless. In your steadfast decision or moments of self-doubt, I want you to know that what you are doing right now—in choosing life, in choosing adoption, in maybe choosing me—is by far the biggest blessing I could ever ask for.

I love you for what you are doing. I will never forget or take for granted the weight of this decision. You are not making the easiest choice, but you are making the best one you can possibly make. Many mothers may look past a single woman’s profile. But you are different. You know it isn’t just a mom and dad that make a home. You know love makes a home. Your baby will be so very loved and cherished by so many people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’ve always wanted to be a mom and never imagined my life any other way. After years of not being able to conceive on my own, I am so excited for the opportunity to love and support a child that has been purposefully, carefully, and selflessly chosen to be mine.

About Me

I have been a teacher for 21 years, 18 of these in fourth grade. Over the last three years, I have worked as an instructional specialist, where I have had the opportunity to coach teachers as well as help struggling students at my elementary school. Although I love every bit of my time with my coworkers and students, my time away from school is always highly valued. I love traveling, especially to the beach, and being outside, and I also enjoy all types of live music and sporting events. I am happy doing most things as long as I am spending time with my family, my friends, and their children. I also enjoy supporting my community, and being involved is important to me. One of the main ways I do this is by attending events and contributing to March of Dimes, Toys for Tots, and other local organizations.

My Home

I live in an apartment while in the process of building my dream home down the street from my best friend and her family. The neighborhood is in a historic district with a beautiful park, a farmers market, shops, and restaurants within walking distance from the new house. Throughout the year, there are festivals and block parties for families to enjoy. The most beautiful is at Christmastime. There is also a lake nearby, where we can feed the ducks, geese, and turtles. There is so much to do outside and mild weather most of the year to enjoy it all. It’s a cozy small town while just minutes away from a major city.

My Extended Family

I’m fortunate to have a large family that enjoys spending time together. I have three older half-siblings from my dad, and the youngest is a brother whom I grew up with. Since my older siblings were grown by the time I came around, I was raised with their children, my nieces and nephews, who’ve remained some of my closest friends. We get together for special occasions and an additional three to four times a month for dinner and game nights.

Out of all the special occasions with my family, my absolute favorite is Christmas Eve. Throughout childhood and even into our teen years, my mother instilled in us the desire to want nothing more than to be surrounded by family. For as long as I can remember, we have all gathered together, laughed, played games, feasted on ridiculous amounts of food, watched Santa on the radar, and just enjoyed being together.

I can’t think of anything more exciting than the thought of giving your child these memories to cherish as well.

What Led Me To Adoption

I’ve always wanted to be a mom and never imagined my life any other way. After years of not being able to conceive on my own, I am so excited for the opportunity to love and support a child that has been purposefully, carefully, and selflessly chosen to be mine. One of my closest friends is adopted and to see the hope and happiness she was given and the gratefulness she holds for her birth mother gives me so much joy and excitement to move forward in this process.
