Dear Expectant Mother,
Firstly, we want to thank you. We can’t imagine what an incredibly difficult and emotional decision this must be for you. It’s hard for us to even put into words the gratitude and admiration we have for such a beautiful and selfless act.
We know you have a lot of choices, so we appreciate the time you have taken to read our story and for considering us as potential adoptive parents. We have always felt a missing space in our hearts that was one day meant for a child that would join our family. We are not perfect, but we are fully committed to being the best parents we possibly can be. If you choose us as parents for your child, we promise to always be there to give your child a life full of unconditional love, laughter, understanding, and support and to provide a stable, nurturing home and family that encourages the individual spirit and curiosities of our child. Through our love of travel and the outdoors, we hope to evoke a curiosity and a sense of connection to the world around him or her and the people in it.
We are so excited to meet and start this journey with you. We are open to any additional questions you may have. Please know that we want to be there for you as little or as much as you need.
We have been together for over 14 years and happily married since 2014. When we first met, Christine was living in Cape Cod and Monica in Northern California. We are the typical cliché of opposites attracting, with different family backgrounds, interests, and personalities. Through the course of our relationship, we have found these differences to be one of our greatest assets. We now live in Northern California, where Monica is working as a veterinarian and Christine at a law firm.
We share a passion for traveling and appreciating nature through hiking and photography. Recently, we fulfilled one of our biggest dreams together and spent three months driving across the country visiting and hiking through national parks. This trip inspired us to continue traveling and to one day also share these adventures with our child.
We lovingly refer to our home as Noah’s Ark. We have two dogs, two cats, and two fish. Our pets are very loving and friendly toward everyone and are considered to be part of our family.
We bought our home two years ago with the intention of growing our family. We love the family-friendly neighborhood, and our home is located right behind an elementary school our child can eventually walk to. Our home is also within walking distance of the downtown district, family community center, and several playgrounds and parks. On weekends, our town usually has a community activity we get to enjoy and where we meet a lot of great people and families with kids.
Our Extended Family
Monica grew up in a very close family. She is the oldest of three siblings, with a sister and brother. Her parents have been happily married for over 40 years! As a family, they enjoy the tradition of traveling together on yearly family vacations. Monica also has a large extended family that loves to spend almost every holiday together. Some of her most memorable holidays are their Fourth of July barbecues, Halloween dinners dressed up in full costume, and our favorite, Christmas Eve.
Christine has two younger half sisters and a close relationship with her three nephews. She travels home at least once a year to spend time with her family. Christine had an especially close relationship with her grandparents, with whom she spent most of her early childhood. Some of Christine’s favorite traditions were in the simple daily routines she shared with them. Every night they would all have dinner together; then Christine would watch The Golden Girls with her grandmother. During the summertime, Christine remembers sitting outside with her grandfather at night watching the stars as he would teach her all the constellations.
What Led Us To Adoption
We believe that there is already a child meant for us, and when it is supposed to happen, that child will find us.
From the very beginnings of our relationship, we discussed wanting to have children. First, though, we wanted to finish our educations and move closer to family. Our families have been our biggest supporters, and it is important to us that they be there throughout our adoption journey. Adoption was always a natural choice for us. We want to take the values and unconditional love we felt from both our families and give that to our own child. We find value in the differences in our families and know how it has had a positive impact and influence in each of our lives.
