Family Type: LGBT
State we live in: North Carolina

dear expectant mother

Since Lucas was adopted, we have a greater understanding of the sacrifice you are making, and we are thankful you are considering us to care for your child, whom we will cherish, protect, and love more than we have ever loved before. We promise to raise your child in a home filled with joy, happiness, and opportunities to become the person they want to be.

We look forward to the day we can read to our child as they drift off to sleep. One day they can help prepare gourmet dishes in the kitchen, bake cookies from scratch, and laugh around the bonfire in the backyard while sipping hot chocolate. We will help them grow in their talents and support them in their struggles. We will teach them the value of family and make sure they know how much love you have for them that you asked us to provide the best life for them that we can. We cannot wait for them to build bonds with cousins as they create the same memories we have created with ours, whether it’s running down the stairs to a Christmas tree surrounded by presents, fishing off the Atlantic Coast, or shooting fireworks into the night sky. We promise to be the best parents, just like your child deserves.

We look forward to the day we can read to our child as they drift off to sleep. One day they can help prepare gourmet dishes in the kitchen, bake cookies from scratch, and laugh around the bonfire in the backyard while sipping hot chocolate.

About Us

Lucas is a business development manager in women’s health, and Nathan is a senior project manager in the hospitality industry. We met on a blind date in California five years ago, and on the first date, we both knew we had found the love of our lives. Six months later, we drove across the country to start a new adventure. Within two years, we went on the vacation of a lifetime, where we got engaged while surrounded by our families. Knowing we wanted to build a family of our own, we moved into our first home. Our two great Danes, chihuahua, and cat are spoiled beyond belief, but we know our family will never be complete until we have a son or daughter to share our lives with.

Our Home

We live in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home surrounded by trees on an acre of land in what feels like a mountain town. Our home is filled with family photos, two great Danes, an 18-year-old chihuahua, and a small black and white cat. We love the outdoors and live near hiking trails where we walk our dogs on sunny days. Lucas is constantly cooking fresh meals to feed friends and family. We have always wanted to hang a swing from the trees and set up a playground, and we cannot wait for the day when we can take our child to the movies in the park, where families enjoy classic films, or to push a stroller while we walk with our pups through the neighborhood.

Our Extended Family

Family means everything in our lives. We are both close with our aunts, uncles, siblings, parents, and cousins. Lucas’s family comes together for the 4th of July and Thanksgiving, where time is spent catching up over good BBQ. Nathan’s family lives in California, where they enjoy trips to Lake Havasu, going to the beach, and riding horses.

We have three young nieces on Nathan’s side, and Lucas’s cousins have many children of their own. As we both experienced childhoods surrounded by our cousins, we cannot wait for our child to enjoy holidays and trips with family members around the same age. Every year we go fishing, go camping, and experience something new, and we cannot wait to share those experiences with our child. Our families could not be happier that we will be adding a child to our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

Lucas and his twin brother were adopted when they were just two weeks old. On our second date, we discussed what we wanted in our future, and both of us wanted lives with children. We discussed our options, and since Lucas is adopted and had a birth mother who loved him so much she gave him the most amazing family, we decided we wanted to adopt as well. Adoption is a blessing and a gift. We would be forever grateful to be gifted the opportunity of fatherhood and will provide for our children the same opportunities that were provided for us.
