Dear Expectant Mother,
If you’ve made it this far into my profile, then perhaps you’re willing to go further with me on this adoption journey. I have always hoped and prayed I would someday be blessed with motherhood, and that’s where you come in. If I am honored with the privilege of raising your baby, you would be my blessing. I promise you, your child would be a gift who would never be taken for granted.
I have dreamed of and imagined one day teaching my children how to paint, baking cookies with them, lighting candles together at midnight as part of our Easter traditions, taking road trips with the family to visit even more of our family, and traveling to new places together. I even look forward to doing homework with him or her!
I promise that there will be laughs, family, education, life lessons, support, hugs, high fives, and hard work, but most of all, there will always be love.
I’m Penny, and I come from a very loving, supportive family with Greek heritage. I am blessed with wonderful parents, an older sister, a younger brother, many cousins, nieces, nephews, three godchildren, and tons of friends. We like to throw big parties with lots of food, fun, and laughs. We are a loud and lovable bunch. Sports and art have always been a big part of my life and something I can’t wait to experience and teach within my own growing family. I work in healthcare as an ultrasound technologist. I love my career and caring for people. I like to think of myself as a loving, kind, intelligent, responsible, and funny person, and unless my friends and family have been lying to me, I’m not far off the mark. I’m a horrible singer, but that doesn’t stop me from trying! I believe love grows the heart and laughing feeds the soul.
I live in a beautiful condo with very helpful and kind neighbors, many of whom have young children. That makes for a fun Halloween. I’m within blocks of pools, parks, playgrounds, and great restaurants and minutes from my parents (who have an amazing garden) and siblings. I’m so excited at the thought of playing in the park, shooting hoops (I played basketball in high school), summer pool days, gardening, and BBQs! I’m also within miles of downtown museums, zoos, and beaches. I love being close enough to enjoy the rich culture of the city and still be part of a quiet neighborhood and community.
My Extended Family
I am surrounded by family and loved ones here in my city, but wait…there’s more. I have family in Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Canada, and Greece. Taking road trips to see each other is one of my fondest memories. That’s a lot of love and support rooting for me. They are so thrilled that I have chosen to adopt and are waiting with open arms.
We celebrate life and holidays in big ways, from my brother’s annual 4th of July bash, Christmas at my house, dying Easter eggs with my mother and later the lighting of candles at midnight to the New Year’s cake with the hidden coins for luck (which my mother rigs for all her grandbabies to always win). I look forward to the day when I can share all this and more with my own child.
What Led Me To Adoption
Adoption has always been a blessing to my family as one of my first cousins was adopted as well as one of my nephews. We could never imagine our lives without them in it. I see what a blessing they have been to our family and can only hope and dream that I am given the same opportunity someday to grow my own family through adoption.
