Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you. We feel incredibly blessed to be on this journey, and we are so grateful that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your baby. Your courage and strength are inspiring, and we hope to learn from you in creating a forever bond. Although we may never truly understand how you feel in this moment, please know that we are here to work with you throughout this process.
We promise that we will provide your child with love, care, and a nurturing environment. We will foster the character and individuality of your child so he or she will grow to be a happy and well-adjusted person. We will meet your child’s every need and provide him or her with opportunities to grow, love, and be unconditionally loved. We will provide a stable and happy household and a life full of family and friends. We will work to instill high morals and values in your child and a love for the Christian faith. Our extended families will be with us every step of the way, providing additional support and love.
We thank you for considering us as prospective parents. We hope to meet you soon and begin this journey of parenthood together. No matter where your choices take you, we wish you a happy and fulfilling life.
Our love and passion for the environment brought us together over ten years ago. We are both from South Florida and met during an internship with a non-profit organization working on advocacy issues in the Everglades. While Rachel stayed in Florida through college, Danielle moved around with her mother and brothers before returning to Florida to finish her college degree. About seven years ago, we took a leap of faith and left Florida to pursue our careers and begin our life together. Now, Rachel works as an environmental attorney and Danielle is a store manager for a large retail corporation. We are both active, caring, and light-hearted people. We love spending time with family and friends and exploring the city we live in. Most of all, we enjoy our time together because of our deep love and commitment to one another.
So much of the love in our home comes from our pets! We have two dogs, Ruby and Franny, and two cats, Calvin and Trixie. Our dogs are playful and love the neighborhood kids, while our cats are quiet and prefer to snuggle. Our home is in a diverse and lively neighborhood. We live about six miles away from the downtown area, and we are walking distance to a large park with nature trails and a brand-new children’s museum. We often have visits from family, and we enjoy doing the tourist-y things with visitors. Our city is a great place because of all the festivals, parades, and parks, and we can’t wait to share this with a child.
Our Extended Family
Rachel grew up with her younger sister and was raised by their loving parents. She met her older brother and his wife over ten years ago, and they now have two children we love to spoil. Rachel has a large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins that meet every two years for a family reunion in a different city. Rachel’s family has also many close friends throughout their time living in Florida, and these people have grown to be family as well. One of our favorite traditions every year is to attend a Christmas Eve party at Rachel’s parents’ house, where we visit with all our closest friends.
Danielle grew up with her younger brother, and they were raised by their mother and grandmother. Danielle’s parents divorced and each remarried, and Danielle’s family grew to include a half-brother and two step-sisters. Danielle spent many summers exploring national parks with her grandmother, aunt, and cousins. Danielle’s dad was also active in her life, and he recently moved back to his home country of Ecuador. We look forward to visiting him and Danielle’s extended family in the near future.
What Led Us To Adoption
We have always known we want to be parents, and adoption feels right for us because it is already a huge part of our family. When Rachel’s parents were young, they had a son they placed for adoption. Rachel and her family reconnected with her biological brother over ten years ago and have formed an incredible bond. We have seen the love and relationships that come from adoption, and we have no doubt that adoption is the way we want to grow our family.
