Thank you for being so courageous and considering adoption so that we can fulfill our lifelong dream of becoming parents. Adopting a child would mean more to us than we can put into words.
We are two southern gentlemen who would love to have the opportunity to pass down our southern values to our child. Your baby will be surrounded by a large group of very loving family and friends.
We can't imagine how you’re feeling or what you’re going through, but please know we are here to support you and the decisions you make so that this journey is a pleasant one. We hope you will open up your heart and give us the opportunity to go on this journey together.
Again, thank you for being so brave. Please know that we are here to support you through this incredible emotional journey and we would be honored to share in this journey with you.
Richard and Ryan
We met in 2010 at the hospital we were working at (both of us are Registered Nurses). Although we were terrified to say hello to one another, we worked up the courage and found each other online, and from there the rest is history. In 2016, we finally decided to tie the knot and spend the rest of our lives together.
For the past four years, Ryan has enjoyed racing triathlons and continues to race today. Richard is more of a stay-at-home-gardening type of guy, but does like to go out to the movies and dinner. Our perfect date night is one where we stay at home watching movies and cuddling on the couch with some junk food, our 3 dogs (Lille, Bella and Summer), and our cat (Angel).
We recently sold our house in the big city and bought a garden home in the suburbs. We live in a very quiet, newly built subdivision with access to some of the best schools and parks in the area. Our home is also newly built and has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It has just the right amount of space for us, our three miniature schnauzers, (Lillie, Bella and Summer), and the ruler of the house, Angel Kitty. Our city and neighborhood are very quiet, and feature a family friendly atmosphere that we have fallen in love with.
Our Family Traditions
We both grew up in southern homes with extended families that spent lots of weekends with aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends. Throughout our life, our families and friends have surrounded us with love and support. Richard’s family lives in Mississippi and is only a short drive away from us. Ryan’s family lives in Louisiana and also in a few neighboring states. We also have many close friends in the area that we consider our family.
There are two main traditions that we look forward to every year. The first tradition is a weeklong beach vacation with most of Ryan’s family. Not only do we enjoy the beach, we also enjoy catching up with the family that we don’t get to see on a regular basis. The second and biggest family tradition is Thanksgiving and Christmas. During the holidays we travel to different family celebrations eating and enjoying the company of family and friends. It is an exhausting time of year but we look forward to it because it is time spent with family and friends.
What Led Us To Adoption
From the beginning of our relationship we have always wanted to be parents, but never thought it would be possible, until now. We have watched our nieces and nephews grow up, and seeing the joy they brought to our families made us both desire to have our own child even more. Richard grew up with an adopted brother. The love, support, and kindness he brings to the family is indescribable. The opportunity to be adoptive parents and have a child come into our home to love unconditionally is priceless to us.
