Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about me and my family.
I cannot wait to play with and read books to your baby. Being able to snuggle and share time with my daughter is one of my favorite times of the day, and I look forward to doing this with our new addition. Taking him or her to the park or zoo and swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool will be so much fun! My parents will be taking care of the baby while I work, so the relationship they will have will be amazing. They watched my daughter, and it was such a great experience. My daughter is so excited to be a big sister. She talks about it every day.
I hope that in reading and seeing the pictures, you can tell that faith, family, and friends are the three most important things in my life. I will strive to be the best example for my children so these things might become the most important things in their lives as well. I believe this is accomplished by my children knowing it was out of love that their birth mothers chose to give them a better life than they could see giving them themselves. Know that your child will be loved by me and my daughter. We are beyond excited to welcome another person into our family.
I am the oldest of two children. My parents, brother, sister-in-law, and niece are all close to me and my daughter. I graduated from college in 2004 with my education degree and finished my master’s degree in 2019. I am in my 15th year of teaching. I currently teach kindergarten and love seeing children learn new things. I adopted my daughter nine years ago, and it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I enjoy spending time with my daughter at home, out at the local zoo, playing with friends and family, or at one of her softball games. I am very active in my local church, where I am a leader in our AWANA program.. I have friends that my daughter and I like to do things with. We enjoy traveling to see family and friends and love when they come to see us.
I love my home. It is a beautiful place where my family can play, relax, and visit with family and friends. It is a ranch-style home with a large family room and basement. These two areas allow me to play with my daughter. The street I live on is only a block long, so the kids ride bikes and play in each others yards in the fall, spring, and summer. The back yard is also a great open area with loads of space to play in. We visit the zoo and children’s discovery area, and my parents live close by and have a pool. There is always something fun to do, and we cannot wait to share these fun activities with a new baby.
My Extended Family
My daughter has many aunts, uncles, and cousins. My extended family is close, so my children will know family is always there for them and that they are loved. Any time extended family comes to visit or we visit them, a big dinner is planned, and we all enjoy spending time together. My brother and sister-in-law live just a few houses from my parents and we all attend the same church, so it is common to see each other five or six days a week. My daughter and her cousin are best friends.
As a single parent, it was very important to me that my children have two sets of grandparents. When I chose to adopt nine years ago, I asked very close family friends if they would be willing to be the second set of grandparents to my daughter. They were overjoyed, and they have welcomed her into their family. She has two uncles and aunt along with a younger cousin on that side of the family. Not only did their immediate family accept my daughter into their family but the entire extended family did as well.
There are two sets of families that are overjoyed to have another baby added to the family.
My Adoption Story
I love being a mom. I adopted my daughter, and it was the best decision I ever made. I always saw myself with more than one child and am excited to add another person to my family. My daughter has wanted to be a big sister for many years. She understands how adoption works, and she is excited to add to our family with the baby who is just right for our family. Not a day goes by that we do not talk about what life will look like and be like when we are a family of three.
