Sarah & Ricca

Family Type: Lesbian
State we live in: Washington

dear expectant mother

We are happy there are a lot of amazing families for you to choose from for your baby. We thank you for considering us. Whatever you decide, we know it is coming from a place of love for your child and wanting what’s best for him/her and that is the most selfless act one can undertake as a parent. We want to assure you we would offer your child a lifetime of unconditional love first and foremost, but also, warmth, fun, education, guidance, adventure, and lots of laughter. We can promise to care about their health, to care how they are doing in school, who their friends are, and whether they’re happy. We have never met you and yet we could play such a huge part in each other's lives. We have done our best to give you a good idea of who we are as a couple and at the end of the day it’s just words and pictures but we hope you can feel the love behind where our desire to adopt is coming from. We want you to know there is no greater gift in this world that anyone could give us than to make us parents. We want what’s best for both you and your baby and wish you the best with whatever you decide.

We believe there is a soul out there who is searching for us just as we are searching for him or her.

-Sarah & Ricca

About Us

Sarah was born and raised in Oregon, and Ricca is from California. We both left home soon after graduating high school, not because we didn’t love our families but because we were both raised to be independent and confident to go explore the world. We met in Colorado five years ago through a mutual friend, and four months later, Sarah proclaimed her love to Ricca and asked for her hand in marriage. While at times we are the very definition of “opposites attract,” our overlapping interests and core values connect us. We view the world with compassion for its human inhabitants and the environment and bond over our shared love of being outdoors. Ricca works in computers, and Sarah works in real estate. We are fortunate to work remotely, which means extra time to spend with your baby.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is located in a beautiful subdivision that backs up to a greenspace with 2.5 miles of hiking trails, a play area, and several Little League fields. We enjoy hiking with our two sweet dogs, Jake and Chance, and exploring the trails. We look forward to the day we can bring a child and watch them taking in the massive trees while playing and seeing them grow into and out of the toys on the playground. Our home has four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a backyard with towering trees adjacent to our back fence. Our main motivation for choosing this location is our home’s close proximity to amazing schools, from elementary up to high school, all within walking distance.

Our Extended Family

Every other Christmas we travel to Ricca’s mom’s house in California to celebrate Christmas with her VERY large family. A newer tradition in the family is a white elephant gift exchange during which many shenanigans and laughs ensue. We also tend to have at least one other large get-together every year, whether it’s to celebrate a milestone birthday or a wedding or to meet a new baby in the family.

Sarah’s family is much smaller but filled with lots of love. Sarah’s brother is especially looking forward to teaching your baby everything he knows about ham radios, drones, VR, and all sorts of other total geek stuff. We moved to Washington State in 2019 to be closer to both of our families, which are spread throughout the West Coast. Your baby will have lots of cousins to play with and plenty of aunts and uncles to adore him or her. Our families have been waiting for us to adopt for quite some time and ask us about babies almost every time we see them. Needless to say, they are beyond excited to have another little one to love.

What Led Us To Adoption

We’ve known since the beginning of our relationship we wanted to grow our family. Ricca grew up with some much younger siblings and was hooked on the idea of being a mother ever since she held her first baby brother in her arms when she was eight years old. We have tried unsuccessfully to get pregnant but know that is not the end of our journey. We believe there is a soul out there who is searching for us just as we are searching for him or her. Through our many travels, we have met people whom we regard as family. We are true believers that the strongest of bonds can be built between humans with no actual genetic connection.
