Shane & Greg

Family Type: Gay
State we live in: North Carolina

dear expectant mother

We may not know each other yet, but we’re already in awe of the courage you’re demonstrating as you consider making this sacrifice. We understand you’re making this decision with a heart full of love for your child. As you take this step in your own life’s journey, we want you to know we are humbled our journeys have brought us together.

You’ll be giving our family the most special gift of our lives. We promise to honor your gift with all the love and resources we have to offer.

Greg is excited to drive your child to school in the morning and to be “Coach Dad” on Saturday mornings as they play whatever sports they want. Shane is looking forward to helping your child study for their math tests and teaching them how to make homemade pasta with both of his grandmas. And Lobo and Holmes are excited to have a sibling who drops scraps from the table and will play fetch with them!

We will be forever grateful for you.

You’ll be giving our family the most special gift of our lives. We promise to honor your gift with all the love and resources we have to offer.

-Shane & Greg

About Us

More than anything, we are defined by our love for each other. We’re best friends and never get tired of each other’s company. Shane admires Greg’s positive spirit, his commitment to his family and friends, and his goofy sense of humor. Greg is drawn to Shane’s kindness and generosity, his selflessness, and his curiosity for the world around him. Our parents and grandparents instilled in us a strong work ethic, and we work hard to impact others. We both work in business, consulting to large companies. Shane is passionate about improving healthcare in the U.S. and works with his clients to improve the healthcare consumer experience. Greg enjoys working on complex projects with financial services companies, regularly working with clients around the world.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is full of love and laughter. Much more than a house, it’s a place for enjoying time and making memories with each other and with our family, friends, neighbors, and our sweet dogs, Lobo and Holmes. The house is 2,700 square feet with four bedrooms and three bathrooms and a big backyard, where we maintain a garden together. We live in a friendly and established neighborhood near multiple parks, some of the highest-rated schools in the city, and several activities we hope to enjoy with our future family, like the theater, museums, concerts, and a theme park.

Our Extended Family

We treat life together as an adventure. Our adventures so far have taken us to 25 states and multiple countries, to dozens of shows and concerts, and on too many hikes to count. We’re eager to maintain that same zest for life as we grow our family, encouraging a sense of curiosity and an appreciation for other cultures as we explore our country and other parts of the world together.

As much as we enjoy experiencing new things together, we also value the traditions we share with family. Greg’s parents and brother live just 20 minutes from our home, and we often travel to see Shane’s parents, his sister and her family, and our extended family in Florida, West Virginia, New York, and other parts of the country. We’re together as a family frequently for birthdays and other celebrations, college football games, and when we’re simply in the mood to share a delicious home-cooked meal.

Our family is excited to support us as we embark on the next stage of our adventure as a family. We’re blessed to have their support, and we’re eager to share that support with a child who deserves every bit of their love and attention.

What Led Us To Adoption

When you know, you just know. We both knew early on we were meant to be together and to commit to a lifetime of love with each other. And over the last few years, we have come to know being parents is what we’re meant to do. To put it simply, we’re excited to be dads. Alongside caring for each other in our marriage, we see the chance to provide a happy, safe, and healthy home to a child as our biggest responsibility and privilege. Adopting a child is the right path for us. We know this in our heads and, more importantly, in our hearts.
