Dear Expectant Mother,
What can you say to the person who is considering making your dream a reality? We simply start with thank you. Thank you for reading our profile and for considering us. Right now our us is made up of two happily married, hardworking, and dependable people who have always known the desire to create a family beyond us. Thank you for considering us to be that family for your baby. While we can’t begin to understand each other’s journeys, we have a common goal: to make sure your baby grows up supported, encouraged, and surrounded with love.
We feel like we have been preparing for this opportunity our whole lives. First, we chose each other. We found in each other a partnership above all else. We saw in each other the things we valued individually. Love of family and friends. Respect for one another, for our community, and for all those around us. Optimism to find light in the dark and joy in the everyday. This is what will make us amazing parents, and these are the values we want to instill.
Thank you again for considering us to be a part of your story. We are ready to begin this amazing new chapter in our lives. We are potentially being given the chance to realize our dream of a family and look forward to doing that with you. We hope to be able to meet you and create a plan for your child’s future together.
We have enjoyed twelve wonderful years together, five of which we have been married. As a couple, we prioritize spending time together. This often includes our friends and family, especially our five nieces and nephews. We love to host all sorts of get-togethers: game nights, movie watch parties, and celebrating holidays. We also truly delight in traveling. It has exposed us to so many of the amazing cultures this world has to offer. We look forward to sharing these experiences with our child. Kermit owns and operates his own salon, and Tanner is a branch manager for a local credit union. Kermit loves his work. The freedom of owning his own business has been a rewarding endeavor. When Tanner is not working, he enjoys putting his culinary degree to good use. You will oftentimes find yourself welcomed into our home by the smell of warm cookies!
They say home is where the heart is, and our home has a lot of heart. When we purchased our home in 2017 we intentionally looked for a home we could grow into with our children. Our home is a bright and spacious 4 bedroom and 3 bathroom townhome. We share it with our two pugs, Button and Bow and our cat Bea. We are located in a quiet and friendly neighborhood close to some of the best schools in the area. We love where we live. It is so close to the cities best attractions. Our favorites are the zoo, aquarium and endless local and national parks. We look forward to walking the trails and sharing the beauty of our neighborhood with our child.
Our Extended Family
Even though Kermit grew up as an only child, there was never a shortage of family. His family lives on the opposite side of the state, but that’s never been an obstacle. Between vacations, FaceTime, and more, we barely get the chance to miss each other. Tanner’s family is also close. Because some live just a town way, it allows for holidays and lots of family meals. Pajama brunches are our favorite.
Tanner’s siblings have gifted us with five nieces and nephews. They have brought so much joy and love into our lives and have brought our family closer as a unit. We spend time with the kids as much as possible. The idea of getting a new cousin is a pretty big deal for them. The older one is ready to babysit, and the young one has so many toys they’re ready to share.
We have been blessed with an amazing circle of friends. They are family in every sense of the word. You will probably catch at least one or two mixed in with our family holidays. It will be amazing to see them all with our child. They are all looking forward to outdoing each other at being the favorite aunt or uncle.
What Led Us To Adoption
Kermit is an only child who was showered with love. Tanner is one of three and was able to enjoy the hustle and bustle of siblings running around. Even though our upbringings were different, we have always known we wanted to start a family. When we began to research how to make our dream a reality, we knew adoption was the best option for us. In our hearts, we knew that there was a child out there meant for us. Our close friend was a birth mother herself. The comfort she has shared with us in knowing that adoption was a blessing for her child truly helped us get to where we are today.
