Tiffany & Kira

Family Type: Gay
State we live in: Texas

dear expectant mother

You are our miracle. The gift you are considering to share with us is priceless and we will be forever grateful. There is no way to fully describe our appreciation for you and your sacrifice. We admire the loving, resilient, courageous, trusting, and generous nature you must have to choose adoption.

Though we don’t know each other yet, we look forward to an open and thoughtful relationship. We offer you our love, care, kinship and hope. We hope to learn from you and give to you as we build this forever bond.

The act of opening our hearts and home is a key part of who we are and how we live our lives. We are thrilled at the opportunity to provide a child with a life full of love, education, laughter, travel, and adventure. We promise to honor your gift by ensuring this child is always safe and loved.

About Us

We are two distinctly different people with different backgrounds and personalities, but also a lot of similarities. Kira’s dad’s words to describe us both on our wedding day nailed it on the head: “caring, loving, strong-willed, quietly tenacious, and often relentless women.”

Tiffany grew up in a small town in the mountains of Kentucky and rarely left the area, while Kira had a very different upbringing in Washington D.C. and traveled regularly to visit her family in South America. Tiffany has always been passionate about helping others and has a successful career as an advocate for worker and environmental health. Kira’s natural ambition and professional soccer experience led easily to a career in developing business strategy.

We both like to be active and spend time with our friends and neighbors. Our shared passions and values drew us to each other and are at the heart of our day-to-day lives. Our evenings and weekends are usually spent volunteering, gardening, on bike rides, hikes, outdoor picnics/movies, cooking, crafting, traveling, or playing/watching sports.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is exactly that – a home. We’ve tried to make it open and welcoming where anyone feels like it’s their home, too. We often have friends or family stop in to stay with us, which makes us really happy. A key piece of home for us is our dog, Minnie. She was rescued as a puppy and changed our lives. We both love animals, but were unprepared for how much we would love our dog. She has endless energy and loves kids…she’s super cute, too.

The house itself is in an established neighborhood within walking distance to one of the best rated schools in the city and multiple parks. We are also within 10 minutes of the theater and museum districts. We’ve traveled to more than 9 countries and 10 states in the past three years. Exploring new places and living among different cultures provides a new view on what “home” looks like and we want to share that with a child.

Our Extended Family

Tiffany grew up surrounded by a lot of family, including her mom and a little sister, and later met her younger half-brother and -sister in her twenties. Tiffany’s mother passed away 8 years ago, but she enjoys her relationship with her father. Tiffany is the oldest of 13 grandchildren, so she spent most of her youth as the go-to babysitter. Taking care of 12 active children amped up on Mountain Dew and Reese’s Pieces (true story) still could not turn her away from wanting kids, but instead it just solidified how much she wanted to be a parent.

Kira grew up in a very loving family. She has one older brother and her parents are happily retired and spend considerable time with us at our home or with us on family vacations. Kira is one of 16 grandchildren all relatively close in age, so she had a lot of built-in friends. Her family is so close that they literally talk on the phone every day (no matter what state or country they’re in).

Though we do not live in the same state as our extended families, distance doesn’t keep this family apart. Not only do we have a family reunion every July 4th weekend, we spend holidays together and regularly travel with our family on domestic and international vacations.

What Led Us To Adoption

Adoption fits squarely in line with our values. We firmly believe that this is our intended path and you were meant to be a part of it. Through adoption, we are accountable for the care of another human being. The humbling duty and responsibility of this act is always in the forefront of our minds. The shared values between us all will provide a foundation for us to grow and develop a smart, strong, competent, and caring individual who will positively impact the world.
