Family Type: Gay Couple
State We live in: Missouri

dear expectant mother

We are very grateful you are considering this path for you and your child as we work to start our family. We can’t imagine the challenges you’re facing right now, but we would be so happy to partner with you during this time in your life. As two men who are so excited to become parents, we know we can work together as you courageously choose adoption.

We were very fortunate to come from families who value unconditional love and support. With a large circle of family and friends and a beautiful home and neighborhood to offer, we can assure you that your child would be surrounded by love in a nurturing environment and would have a future of wonderful opportunities.

In our 18 years together, we have worked to strengthen our home and relationship. We promise to raise a child with laughter, kindness, and curiosity (except for snakes). We are so excited for all the books we will read together, the vegetables we will grow in the garden, and the amazing art projects that might lead to remodeling of the house.

Thank you for considering us and giving us a chance to become dads. We admire your strength and selflessness and can’t wait to build a relationship with you.

About Us

We are both from the same town in Kansas but met in college. We are both doctors: Adam cares for people in the hospital, and Austin takes care of children with autoimmune diseases. Together we enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, exploring new restaurants, going to the theater, or spending an evening at home watching TV while cuddling with our two dogs. Adam enjoys gardening, making arts and crafts, and seeking out new local coffee shops, while Austin spends his free time reading science fiction, listening to music, and volunteering. We balance each other very well. Adam is outgoing, while Austin is more reserved. Austin is more measured; Adam is spontaneous. We are both inquisitive, dedicated to those we love, and committed to the health of our patients and the education of our students. Austin is a Ravenclaw, and Adam is a Gryffindor!

Our Home & Pets

We live in a charming old house with a large yard in a city in Missouri with our two Schnoodles, Moby and Florence, and our cat, Albus. We live in a diverse neighborhood with lots of other young families, with nearby parks, restaurants, and schools. Our city has a wide range of family-friendly activities, including a zoo, an aquarium, amusement parks, and museums. We have a circle of close friends with whom we spend time hanging out around the city or at each other’s homes.

Our Extended Family

Family is a major part of our lives, and both sides of our family often gather for the major holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions. Our families are definitely eager to welcome a new baby to the family.

Adam’s side of the family is quite large. He is the youngest of four brothers and has five nieces and three nephews. His extended family is even larger, with many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Adam’s dad passed away in 2010, but his mom continues to be very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren and loves her role as “Nana.”

Austin’s side of the family is a little smaller. His parents are semi-retired, live a few hours away, and visit fairly often. He is one of three brothers and has one nephew. His extended family is much larger, also with many cousins, aunts, and uncles. His family gathers for a reunion every summer.

What Led Us To Adoption

Over the last couple of years, we’ve been thinking about growing our family and have considered all of the various paths toward parenthood. Ultimately we decided adoption was best for us to bring a baby into our lives, our family, and our home. We are thrilled to be able to work with an expectant mother to become new parents and provide a loving, supportive, and nurturing home for a baby.
