dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

In considering all that adoption entails, one question above all consumed our thinking: How do we appropriately balance this overwhelming blessing that is about to enter our lives while recognizing the difficulty of your decision and the massive range of emotions you must be feeling? We are not sure there is a good answer, but we think the best we can do is to acknowledge and understand how difficult this must be for you while also letting you know how grateful we are.

If you decide to choose us, we promise you that we will love your child unconditionally. We will do everything in our power to provide the best care and environment so that they will have a happy and successful life. We look forward to guiding your child through life and supporting them with their hopes and dreams.

We are very grateful you would consider us as the potential parents of your child. We will provide you with updates about your child and will follow your lead as to how much you would like.

We look forward to guiding your child through life and supporting them with their hopes and dreams.

About Us

Hi! Our names are Adrienne and Marc. We started dating in May 2015 and were married in August 2017. Our relationship is one of commitment, trust, and joy. We also have a son, Lucas, who will turn three in March. We strive to create a home environment of happiness, caring, and fun and filled with as much laughter as possible. We also both work remotely in the legal recruitment field. As a couple, we really enjoy going to see live music in a variety of genres in locations across the country. We like to travel and place a lot of emphasis on our families and friends, both mutually and individually.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a town near Boston, where most anything you could want is a short drive away, within walking distance, or accessible via public transportation: shopping, restaurants, coffee, ice cream, schools, parks and recreational activities, and lots of other families with children. We recently enrolled our son in a preschool around the corner from our home as we are looking to make more connections in our community. Our home is bright and warm, largely centered around the main floor with the kitchen and family room. Outside, we have a pool (with maximum safety precautions taken year-round) and ample yard space for outdoor toys, running around, and playing sports/games. There is also a playground right across the street.

Our Family & Friends

Adrienne has one sister, who lives in Boston and has three children. Adrienne’s mom lives in California, and her father lives in Washington, DC. Her extended family is Mid-Atlantic and Northeast based. As much as we are Jewish, Adrienne’s family has a big Christmas celebration, which, growing up, was a large gathering on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Marc’s mother is in Connecticut, and his father lives in Florida with his partner. We are close with our respective families and see them often. We also have a close network of aunts, uncles, and cousins who are a consistent presence in our lives and want to be around to help us in whatever capacity we need.

What Led Us To Adoption

We struggled to have our son. We did IVF and actually banked embryos over the course of a year before transferring an embryo. Our son, Lucas, was the first embryo transfer. However, our subsequent efforts were unsuccessful. We wanted at least one more child, so we began to consider our options, and adoption quickly became our desired method. We both had experiences with people we know who were adopted and knew how powerful that experience could be. Moreover, we both felt we had a lot of love and care to offer, along with the resources to do so, so we dove right in to turn this idea into our reality.
