Family Type: Gay Couple
State we live in: California

dear expectant mother

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as prospective parents. We know we will never understand how you feel now as you consider this, and we would like to assure you that we are two very loving, caring men who want to work closely with you in this process. We respect you immensely and thank you so much for your consideration.

We are incredibly excited about the prospect of becoming parents. We are both lucky to have come from supportive and loving families and have built careers ourselves to help children. We now feel ready to share our cultures, experiences, and love with a child. We hope to bring joy, happiness, and laughter to your child’s life.

Over the past four years, we have built our lives and home together and have gradually become ready for our next step of becoming parents. It is a dream come true for both of us, and we promise your child will grow up in a respectful, thoughtful, and caring environment. We hope our dog, Pedro, will be their first best friend.

We look forward to beginning this journey with you. We would love to meet you and gain more of an understanding of your hopes and dreams, and we hope we are able to share the same.

Thank you,
Adam & Ali

About Us

We first met four years ago while Ali was visiting San Diego and Adam had recently finished graduate school. We connected immediately on our first date together. After leaving the restaurant, we discovered Adam’s bike seat had been stolen, so of course Ali took the opportunity to walk him all the way home. We then spent every day together exploring San Diego, and after having an initial long-distance relationship, we were able to settle down there. We have now been together for four years and married for two. We both work with children in our everyday jobs. Ali is a pediatric emergency physician, and Adam is a speech language pathologist at a school. We enjoy having an active lifestyle and often hike, play tennis, run, and spend time on the beach; Ali is trying to catch up to Adam’s surfing skills. We come from very loving, hardworking families and are lucky to be close with them today.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful neighborhood and are very close to a park where we often spend weekends picnicking, reading, and doing yoga. Our home is a three-bedroom house with a large backyard and fenced-in pool. We live in an area with a great school district and easy access to our favorite spots, like Pacific Beach and Mission Trails Hiking Park, and cannot wait to bring our child to attractions like the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park, SeaWorld, Legoland, and, of course, Disneyland! One other important member of the family is our Labrador mix, Pedro, who is six years old and originally from Mexico. He is a very friendly dog who has been around children many times, including our three- and one-year-old nephews.

Our Extended Family

Adam’s parents were separated and both remarried when he was young, so he was lucky to grow up with two close, caring families. He has a total of five siblings and two young nephews, all of whom we are close with. Adam grew up in New Jersey and now has family all across the country. He grew up celebrating both Jewish and Christian holidays and traditions.

Ali moved to the U.S. nine years ago. His family all live in Turkey, and Ali loves to visit them each year. He has a twin brother and one younger brother as well as many younger cousins whom he grew up with. We would love for our child to learn to speak Turkish in addition to English to be able to communicate with Ali’s family and friends back home. Ali is an expert in Turkish cuisine after learning from his mother.

One of our most treasured traditions we have both loved separately with our families, as well as practiced many times together, is traveling the country and the world. We recognize that our child will grow up in a multiracial, multicultural environment and believe it is important for them to learn about all people and different ways of life around the world.

What Led Us To Adoption

For both of us growing up, it was never a question of whether or not we wanted to have a child. It was something we both always imagined. We have communicated with each other and researched adoption together and now feel we are financially and emotionally ready. We would love to work side by side with a mother at any level she’s comfortable with to help fulfill her dream of giving her child a stable, loving, and caring life. We are so excited to become parents and share our love.
