Hey! We're Allen and Amanda! We were both born and raised in SC. Both of us work full-time and are also youth pastors at our church. Allen is an IT analyst at his company, and Amanda is an Early Intervention Specialist. We both enjoy spending time with friends, family, and our youth. Allen enjoys working on his Jeep, and Amanda loves reading. We have a 3-year-old son, Elijah, we recently adopted. We love including him in everything we do. We are extremely close with our family and will spend evenings around a bonfire with s'mores, having game night, or watching a movie together! We both love going to theme parks and taking our dog with us to the beach or the mountains for vacations, so you can find us spending our summers soaking up the sun! We love music very much and have it playing while we cook dinner, do chores, and work during the day.
We live in a small town that is very community-oriented with holiday parades and festivals during peak seasons. We also belong to an amazing church community. We are the youth pastors at our church and invest in young lives. We have a silly fur baby named Thor! Thor has never met a stranger and also loves kids and other dogs as well. Thor is a very good listener and is very obedient. We love to take him to the parks in town, and the kids love to play with him after church. Our town is very special to us. Even though it's small, we have some amazing people here we can rely on.
Allen has a very large family, and Amanda's family is small. Allen has both his parents and a sister who is married and has a daughter. Allen's only grandparent is his paternal grandfather, who is very active in his grandchildren's lives. We are very close to Allen's parents, sister, and brother-in-law, who all live in town only a few minutes down the road. We typically spend time with each other many times during the week eating dinner, going out shopping, playing games, or trying something new together.
Amanda was raised by her father. Her mother passed away when Amanda was very young, and her dad recently passed away in December. Amanda is very close to her aunt and grandmother, who live in another state but talk often on the phone or through social media. Our families play a huge role in making us who we are today, and we are very thankful for them.
We are so excited to adopt again. We've always known we wanted children but have struggled with infertility for years. We knew that if we couldn't have biological children, adoption was always an option. We will love our future baby unconditionally and look forward to the opportunity to become loving parents.
