Thank you so much for considering us to adopt your baby. The strength and courage it must take for you to consider an adoption plan for your precious child is amazing to us. Please know we are praying for you and your baby. We know this is one of the hardest choices you will ever have to make. The time, thought, and energy you are putting into this decision along with worrying about your child’s needs and future makes you a good mother.

If we are fortunate to be chosen by you, then please know your child will be cared for, will be loved immensely not only by us but also by our extended family, and will know your love and selflessness in making this choice. Your child will have the opportunity to learn who they are, and be given the best chance at future success through a strong education and our love, support, and guidance. We have both had the opportunity to have a lot of different experiences in our lives, and we look forward to introducing those experiences to your child.

About Us

We are both outgoing and friendly people who love new experiences. We both enjoy attending sporting events, rodeos, concerts, museums, and shows. We believe the more new things we can add to our lives, the more well rounded we will be. We spend time with friends and family at dinner or having them over. We have 1.5 acres of space for everybody to move around and play games and for their kids to play and have fun. We both have full-time careers. Benjamin works in construction and is an estimator, while Alyshia taught for 18 years in special education and elementary math and has recently moved into a position in curriculum for a medical school, allowing both of us to have a great work/ life balance. We attend church and have great friends and an amazing support system.

Our Home & Pets

We moved to southern Texas and built a custom home on 1.5 acres. Our ideal location was in the country with land, allowing us to have space for a large yard. We included three extra bedrooms so kids would have their own rooms and space to play. Next door we have cows and horses that come to the fence and visit. Inside we have an orange tabby named Reeses Pieces who likes to sit on laps and a lab mix named Whiskey who loves to run and chase toys- both enjoy snuggles and all the petting. We have town festivals that include the local school district and church activities that are kid friendly. While we live in the country, we also live close enough to a major metropolitan area that gives us access to new experiences.

Our Extended Family

Our family on Benjamin’s side includes his parents, brother, and sister-in-law along with nine aunts and uncles and 13 cousins. Since they live in different parts of the United States, this allows us to travel and explore new places. We enjoy spending holidays together, cooking, creating woodworking projects such as tables, and making sewing projects like quilts.

Our family on Alyshia’s side is much larger, including her parents and their spouses, her grandparents, and her younger sister and brother and her three-year-old niece along with seven aunts and uncles and more than 20 cousins.

Both sides of the family are visited or visit as frequently as possible, and we take turns traveling. When they visit us, we like to go to the beach and explore the children’s museum, zoo, interactive aquarium, and NASA. When we travel, we like to spend time playing games like tile rummy and farkle as well as enjoying local activities with family.

What Led Us To Adoption

From the beginning of our relationship, we both expressed our love of kids and desire to have a family. We knew conventional methods of getting pregnant wouldn’t work for us due to Benjamin’s spinal injury. We both have family and friends who have adopted, and we have seen the love it created in their families. After fostering a sibling set of three for over a year, we quickly realized we couldn’t continue to say goodbye over and over. We desire to have a child we get to raise and can be a consistent and influential part of their life every day. We know adopting and being given the opportunity to love a child is the road we are supposed to follow.
