dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as a potential safe space for you and your baby throughout this journey. Our family understands this decision is not one to be taken lightly, and we understand there is no blueprint for how this process should look. Your selflessness for your child is something that takes great strength and courage, and for that, we are also thankful.

If we are lucky enough to be selected by you, please know this child will be unconditionally loved, cherished, cared for, and encouraged throughout their life. They will not only be loved by us but an amazing older sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We are also lucky to have the best friends, who have become our closest family and village in any time of need.

We look forward to getting to know you and working together through this process of uncertainty. We believe the best way to achieve anything is through open and honest communication, whether it is an easy topic or a difficult one. We promise to always be transparent, honest, and open with each conversation and encounter. We are hopeful we will get to know you and your baby soon.

With love,
Amanda and Jazmine

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as a potential safe space for you and your baby throughout this journey.

About Us

We are Amanda and Jazmine. We met in 2019 when we were both in the police academy. Since, Jazmine has continued her career path as a police officer, and Amanda has transitioned into working as a government contractor. We got married in 2022 and have a ten-year-old daughter and three dogs. Our activities and hobbies include arts and crafts, sports, video/board games, and a lot of family time. Jazmine is a caring person who is always there for others in their time of need; she is a fun-loving, adventurous, and dedicated wife and mother. Amanda is a strong, nurturing, and confident wife and mother who will always go the extra mile for her friends and family. Amanda loves spontaneous adventures and always seeks the positive. We moved into a new home mid-2024. Since living in our new home, we’ve hosted Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Our Home & Pets

We reside in Virginia in a two-story, five-bedroom, three-bathroom house with the neighborhood park on our street that our three dogs, Lola, Dixie, and Bailey, love. Our area is filled with kids of all ages who attend the same schools that are within a mile of our home. When selecting our home, we were intentional regarding test scores, staff and student diversity, and the opportunities given to students. We are an active family and enjoy various city events, like the holiday parades, light shows, sporting events, and youth activities. We enjoy going to local water/amusement parks, go-kart tracks, and the beach.

Our Extended Family

Amanda grew up with three siblings and her parents along with friends who were like family. Her extended family lived in another state, which gave them the opportunity to travel back and forth and have new experiences along the way. Amanda and her family enjoyed hosting game nights and holidays for friends and family every opportunity they had.

Jazmine grew up as an only child with her father and had a sister who lived in another state with her mother. Her father provided a comfortable environment where emotions were allowed to be expressed and communicated. She was a very active child involved in travel basketball. During these trips, she and her father would explore the states and try new restaurants.

Our families have come together countless times for birthdays, holidays, game nights, and family dinners. We have truly been lucky in being able to bring our families together and form tight-knit relationships.

What Led Us To Adoption

We both knew early on that we wanted to adopt as we both have family members through adoption. We tried for about a year to conceive with a donor and were unsuccessful. We knew we wanted to be parents again and give our daughter a sibling. She has always wanted a sibling and to be a big sister, so we decided it was time to adopt. We love being parents and want nothing more than to grow our family and share the love we have with another child as we make new memories together.
