dear expectant mother

We are excited to honor and empower your choice to place your child in an adoptive home. We feel this special child and the adoption process itself are truly miracles. Several of our family members are adopted, including our son. We celebrate your strength and courage to make this decision. We feel strongly that if you place your child in our home, they will not only have our love and guidance but also mentors who can support your child’s questions about being adopted as they grow.

We are both very loving, strong, and supportive women. Our home is full of love, laughter, happiness, joy, respect, and FUN! Our goal as parents is to create an environment where children can grow, realize their hopes and dreams, and become amazing beings. Thank you for considering us to be the lucky ones to raise your child. We truly admire your decision to make an adoption plan for your precious baby.

About Us

We met through a mutual friend 14 years ago and have been inseparable ever since. We consider ourselves blessed to not only be married to the love of our life but to our best friend. Amber works for a NGO (non-governmental organization). She dedicates her life and career to making an impact in her communities and to supporting underrepresented people to use their voices for change. Her life’s passion is to empower women, children, and people of color. Heather had a successful career as a cosmetologist for 20 years. When the height of the global pandemic happened, all salons were temporarily shut down. During that time in quarantine, we decided Heather will become a stay-at-home mom, something she has dreamed of for a long time. Cooking, laughter, music, enjoying the outdoors and travel are all a major part of our lives. Fortunately, our schedules allow us to spend time together in our recently remodeled home.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is a sanctuary for friends and family alike. It has been in Amber’s family for five generations. Amber, her mother, and our son were all brought home here as babies. We are so excited to welcome a new beautiful baby to our home. The kitchen is a gathering place where we enjoy preparing meals and spending quality time together. We love spending time in our backyard sitting by the fire or watching our small dogs play with our son. We live in the heart of an art-influenced neighborhood filled with galleries and art festivals. We can walk to all our local schools and swimming pools. There are wonderful parks all around our city, and we are moments away from libraries, museums, a zoo, and an aquarium.

Our Extended Family

Amber comes from a large, close-knit family. They are rooted in activism and work together in the community. Holidays are filled with love, laughter, delicious food, and traditions. Amber is the oldest of four girls. Her sisters are some of her best friends. They speak daily and always know they can lean on each other. Amber's dad is a self-proclaimed “mountain man” who loves spending time with his grandkids at his cabin in the woods. Her mom loves the beach and sunshine.

Heather is the youngest of two girls. Growing up, she and her sister were always best friends and continue to be today. Heather had the most amazing grandparents who adopted her mother and uncle. They taught her how cherished adopted children are, strong family values, and about wisdom and open-mindedness. Heather's mom is a major support in our lives. We enjoy spending time with her cooking, playing games, and chasing Xander. Heather's father is a man of adventure who loves riding his bicycle and spending time in nature. It gives him great joy spending time goofing around with his grandkids.

Our Adoption Story

Adoption has always been a dream of ours. We discussed this at the beginning of our relationship and knew it was our long-term goal. After 12 years together, we realized it was time to begin our journey of starting a family. In April of 2020 we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy. We have the most amazing connection with Xander’s “Tummy Mommy” and continue to speak today. Our whole experience the first time was so special we knew for certain we wanted to adopt again.
