dear expectant mother

You are an amazing person. We haven't met you, and yet we know you are a truly incredible person. We deeply respect your courage in considering an adoption plan.

Here is what we promise to you: We promise to unconditionally love your child. We promise to be deeply present throughout your child’s life. We promise to be by their side in the hard times and the times that are the most difficult in life so we can provide the safest place. We promise to let your child grow and explore as they learn about the world. We also promise to provide one of the greatest gifts, of ensuring your child knows they are appreciated for who they are in all phases of life. Your strong journey is a part of your child’s life, and this part of their life will always bring strength to their world.

Adopting your child is what our hearts and home are prepared for to ensure a safe, loving, accepting life. We admire you and want you to know we will forever stay true to these promises. Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents. We look forward to getting to know you, learning from you, and creating a forever bond.

About Us

Bryson was born and raised in North Carolina. Amy grew up in New Jersey and California then moved to North Carolina to start her teaching career in the mid-2000s. We both work in education. Bryson is a special education teacher working with students who are currently in the hospital for long-term illnesses. Amy works with public schools to help districts make sure kids get what they need to be successful. We enjoy spending time with family and friends, biking, camping, hiking, and playing with our dogs in the backyard. We enjoy trying new recipes together in the kitchen and endure eating the results, however they turn out. Many evenings are filled with the backyard fire pit or playing board games while watching some favorite shows. Morning or night, whether we are inside or out, the pups are right beside us.

Our Home & Pets

We live just outside of a downtown area on a quiet street with extremely friendly neighbors. Our city is known as a diverse, welcoming city. Within walking and biking distance, we have amazing schools, great restaurants, busy parks, and miles of greenway trails. On weekends, we head up to the local farmers market to grab fresh veggies, herbs, cheeses, and ice cream. When you walk into our home, you feel like you are coming home. You are surrounded by comfortable, casual decor. There is a feeling of love and safety in each room and space. Our two dogs, Carter and Jax, energetically greet each guest, while our two cats, Karma and Calloway, hide in their cat perch until they are ready to come out to say hello.

Our Extended Family

Bryson is the middle child of three, and the second oldest of nine cousins. Amy is the youngest of two siblings and the second youngest of eleven cousins creating a larger extended family who continue to grow their individual families. Some family live in different states, however Amy’s mom and dad, as well as Bryson’s mom, sister (and her family) all live withing 20 minutes of our home.

Our immediate families include children between the ages of one and twenty-three, plus adult cousins, aunts/uncles, and our parents, so family events include spending time together over a meal, a board game, watching a movie, and exploring local events. We have frequent weekend sleepovers with our nieces and nephews - sleepovers that include outdoor adventures, hands-on museum experiences, crafts, and more good movies.

In Addition to family we are aunts to many of the children of our close friends. We attend birthday parties and celebrations for these children, so these friends and their kids frequently ask for time with Aunties Amy and Bryson.

There is always time set aside throughout the year for larger family events at campgrounds, beaches, parks, and other places - creating special moments throughout our lives.

What Led Us To Adoption

When we met, it was like a Hallmark movie (but without the background soundtrack). Adoption has been at the forefront of conversations between us since the beginning. Adoption fits who we are as individuals and as a couple. Bryson has two adult daughters she raised on her own. They live in their own apartments and are both remarkable young adults who have encouraged us to adopt. Amy has always wanted to be an adoptive parent, and now, with Bryson, this is a reality. For us, adoption means we are responsible for the side-by-side growing experience with a tiny human as they learn about and explore the world. We are certain this life path is the exact path we are meant to be on as a couple.
