dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

I want to start by saying thank you for considering me to potentially parent your child. I have prayed for you and your baby for many years, and being chosen by you would be the greatest gift I could receive, and I want you to know that I will do everything possible to honor the gift you are giving and the sacrifice you are making through this process. I hope that somehow you are blessed by this just as much as I will be.

I know that a single guy may not be your first thought when you think of the family your child will grow up with, but being a father has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I am blessed to have an incredible network of friends and family that will be there to support me and your baby every step of the way. The community I have around me is truly special and I know the love and support I receive from them will be experienced by your baby as well.

Being a dad is part of who I am meant to be, almost more than anything else. I am so excited to get to share my world with your baby and give them the best possible life. I look forward to seeing who they will become, and getting to guide them as they grow. Thank you for the role you will play in making this dream come true for me.

With Love,
Andrew

My Lifestyle

My favorite thing is just spending time with those I care about. Most of my free time is spent playing sports with friends, or at their homes sharing dinner or playing games. I am a pretty active person and enjoy the friendly competition of family game night, or a pick up game of just about any sport, and enjoy getting to go to football and hockey games when I get the chance. I also enjoy spending time with my dog and bringing him along to different breweries around town, or snuggling up on the couch for a movie night. I live close to the Old Town area of my town and I love going down there for the various festivals they put on during the year. My work schedule is very flexible, especially in the summers and around the holidays, so I love spending that time traveling and being around family.

My Home & Neighborhood

I live in a townhome in the suburbs of Denver and share my home with my dog Echo and am so excited to see that special bond that develops between kids and their dogs. My back yard connects to a park and I can see the playground from my kitchen window. I recently finished my basement to create a space for my parents to come and stay in order to help me balance life as a single parent and work, and am excited to have them be able to be so present in their grandchildren’s lives.

I hope to create the type of home that is warm and welcoming and will be the hang out spot for the kids and their friends as they grow up.

My Family & Friends

My family and friends are the most important part of my life. While most of my family lives in New Mexico, I make the trip home often to see them. I have two sisters and a brother as well as five nieces and nephews so family get-togethers are often chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Having a big family brings so much joy and support, and they are all excited for me to adopt and bring a new baby into our family.

I am so lucky to have the group of friends that I have. They are more than friends and have become my family. Many of them have kids of their own and they have given me the privilege of being part of their families. I see many of them weekly for dinner, and we spend that time playing games, laughing, and going on adventures. I even participate in bedtime for the kiddos every now and then.

Some of my friends are foster parents and others are also currently going through their own adoption process, so it will be great to have that in common with them and have our kids be able to share that bond.

My Favorite Adventures

I am often asked where I’m going on my next trip.

In 2019 I was able to travel to Norway with my parents for three weeks. It was an incredible trip just getting to see all the stunning natural beauty there, although the food wasn’t that great.

I was also able to travel to India with my dad in 2023 to visit the place he lived and went to school for a year as a teenager. It was so amazing to experience such a different culture, and get to see the places that make up some of the stories my dad would tell me about his childhood.

I look forward to many more adventures and getting to share them with your baby!
