dear expectant mother

First, we want to say thank you for taking the time to read this letter. We can only imagine the weight of the decision you are facing, and we want you to know our hearts are filled with deep respect and gratitude for you. We hope that through this letter, you can get a sense of who we are and the life we are ready to offer a child.

We have always known we wanted to be parents. Over the years, our journey to parenthood has been different than we imagined. We have been through years of fertility struggles. We tried everything, but through it all, we’ve realized the most important thing to us is creating a family—one filled with love, patience, and understanding—no matter how that happens. We truly believe being a parent means more than just providing for a child. It’s about being present, listening, supporting them, and creating a safe environment. We value kindness, empathy, and honesty, and we want to instill these qualities in our child.

If we are fortunate to become parents to your child, we promise they will always be cherished, respected, and loved unconditionally. We are ready to create a home filled with laughter, adventure, and support. We understand this is an incredibly personal decision. If you decide we could be the family for your child, we can connect more and share more about our lives. If not, we truly wish you peace and strength.

About Us

Hello! We are Jon and Ashley. We have been together for 21 years and married for 12 years. We are empathetic and patient people who deeply value communication and understanding, and we believe in treating everyone with kindness and respect. We strive to create an environment where people feel safe and loved. We enjoy cooking and spending time outdoors. We love going camping in our travel trailer to explore new parks, and we look forward to sharing these experiences with a child. Ashley has a passion for creative activities like painting and crafting, and Jon likes fishing, which can be a fun way to bond with kids. Ashley is a store manager for a retail company and has been with the company 18 years. Jon owns a family business with his father and mother. His brother also works with them. Our everyday activities are simple life activities: We work and spend time with our dogs and family.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is a cozy, two-story house filled with sunlight and warmth. We have a large living room, where we love to gather for family movie nights, and a spacious backyard with an inground pool. We love to host parties for the family in the summer and BBQ in our outdoor kitchen. We currently have two dogs, Daisy who is a five-year-old pitbull and Diesel who is a one-year-old pitbull. We love to rescue. One of our favorite things about the neighborhood is that Jon's parents also live here. We live in a close-knit community, so when shopping at the local Food Lion, you always run into someone you know.

Our Extended Family

Ashley has one sister and two brothers. Between her siblings, we have one niece and four nephews. Jon has one brother, who has two sons. Our nephews and niece range in age from two years old to 21 years old. Ashley’s father lives 15 minutes away and her mother three hours away. Jon’s parents live two minutes away. Jon has 11 cousins who live throughout the U.S., and Ashley has six.

We do family dinners on Sunday evenings at least once every other week with Ashley’s dad, Jon’s parents, and his brother, his wife, and their two boys. Every July we do a family beach trip with Ashley’s mother and her siblings and their kids. When we visit her brothers, who live in the same town as her mom, we love to go to the lake house that her brother has and go out on the boat.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our journey to adoption was a deeply personal one shaped by years of navigating fertility struggles. The emotional rollercoaster of hope and disappointment, and the toll it took on both of us, brought us closer together. We realized that what mattered most wasn’t how we became parents but that we became parents together. Through this journey, we learned that sometimes the path to becoming a family isn’t linear, and that's okay. Adoption offers us the opportunity to build the family we always dreamed of, and in that process, we grew stronger as partners. It wasn’t just overcoming the challenges of infertility but about finding new ways to love and support one another with a shared vision for the future.
