dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We know this is a difficult time for you, and we can only imagine the decisions you are faced with at this time. We are here to support you. We are ready and excited to embark on motherhood and to raise your baby with unconditional love and compassion. We have dreamed of having a family for some time now, and it could finally become a reality with your selfless act of love if you choose us.

As an interracial couple, we understand how important culture is, and we plan to raise your baby by incorporating their culture into our lives. With Bintal being Indian and Jo coming from both Jewish and Catholic traditions, we want to ensure that your baby gets all the experiences we had as children, such as celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas as well as Diwali and Holi in order to celebrate the diversity that makes the world great.

We also spend a lot of time with family and value your baby being able to grow up with so many people to love them. We want your baby to grow up knowing they can be curious and try new experiences and make mistakes while knowing we will be there for them no matter what. We want your baby to feel safe and loved and experience laughter, education, different sports if they wish, playing an instrument, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents. Our entire family is ready to share our love and lives with your baby.

With love,
Bintal & Josephine

About Us

We met through a dating app in 2018, right after Jo had started working as a physical therapist and Bintal had finished her master’s degree in library and information science. Bintal was actually living in the town where Jo grew up, just down the street from Jo’s high school. Almost two years after we met, we were planning a big wedding, but COVID hit. We ended up getting married over Zoom, with Jo’s father marrying us. It was perfect and exactly what we didn’t know we wanted. We were able to then buy a house last year. We love spending time together at home working on the garden, and we love traveling together, going to baseball games, and going to Disneyland. We’re also dog moms to Scruffers and Kiki, two Pomeranian-Chihuahua rescues who were found together and are biological siblings.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a great neighborhood where we know most of our neighbors. Everyone is super friendly, always waving or saying hi when we walk by with our two adorable dogs, Kiki and Scruffers. Our neighborhood schools are great. The elementary school is a dual immersion school (English/Spanish), and we believe that living in California, it is so important to be bilingual. The middle school nearby has a focus on art. There are a ton of parks around us with soccer and baseball fields as well as playgrounds and walking paths. We also have a nice-sized backyard where a swingset could go in the future.

Our Extended Family

When we bought our house, we specifically chose a location exactly between Jo’s parents and Bintal’s parents. Each are thirty minutes away from us. Jo has aunts, uncles, and cousins who live about 45 minutes from our house, and Bintal’s sister and her family live about 40 minutes from our house.

Bintal was born in London and still has family she visits in England. We want to give your child the opportunity to be a world traveler, and we keep track of where we go on our world map. We try to see our families multiple times a month by going out to lunch, having family over for BBQs, and going to the aquarium or art museums. We also love to celebrate Halloween and Christmas together and rotate visiting each other at different houses for each holiday.

What Led Us To Adoption

Both of us knew we wanted to raise a child, but we wanted to give a home to an existing child. In the beginning of our relationship, we both wanted to adopt an older child, but then our amazing little niece was born and we fell in love. It was at that moment we both looked at each other and said, “I want a baby.” We want to provide a safe and loving home for a child and to raise them to make a positive impact on the future.
