dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We are so honored you would even consider us as possible parents for your baby. For you to give such an amazing gift is truly a selfless act. If you would bless us with raising your child, it would be the greatest joy of our lives.

We have been lucky to grow up with wonderful families, but we know our family still has some growing to do.We hope your child will be the newest member. We would never forget the brave choice you made by letting us raise your child, and we would spend every day providing your child with love, fun, and security. Even our dogs are ready to be “big brothers,” and we’ve already seen how sweet and gentle they are with babies.

We are already planning all the traditions we can’t wait to share with your child, from opening new PJs on Christmas Eve to making s’mores in our backyard. We will take them on all sorts of vacations, from new cities to the beach and theme parks. Each and every day, we would care for your child and help them grow up happy and healthy.

Through it all, your child would know how much you love them and that you made the biggest sacrifice in order to make our dream come true. We would welcome you into our family as well, at any level you’re comfortable with, so you could see you made the right decision trusting us to raise your child.

Love,
Kalib and Brad

If you would bless us with raising your child, it would be the greatest joy of our lives.

About Us

We are both originally from Kentucky and met when we were next-door neighbors in college, making each of us literally the boy next door! Soon after, Brad moved to Georgia for graduate school, and we dated long distance for two years until Kalib graduated and moved to join Brad. We got married, Brad finished his doctoral degree, and we decided to come home to Kentucky. Brad works as a math professor, and Kalib works remotely as a software developer. Kalib enjoys running and drawing. Brad likes to knit and bake. We both love to read, although we keep buying books faster than we can read them! Of course, our happiest moments are the ones we spend together. On a typical evening, we cook dinner (Brad being the head chef), take our dogs for a long walk, and play a board game. We are each other’s best friend!

Our Home & Pets

As we searched for our home, we knew we would soon begin our adoption journey, so we found the perfect home for our family to grow into. Our house is at the end of a cul-de-sac on a quiet street with several other families. We have a beautiful, open backyard where your child will be able to run and explore and play with our dogs. When the weather brings them inside, they will have a dedicated playroom upstairs right down the hall from their own bedroom. Every evening we take our dogs for a walk around the neighborhood. We have a community playground and swimming pool within walking distance. We cannot wait to go to sporting events, parks, musicals, and movies with your child.

Our Extended Family

Brad grew up in a loving family and is the youngest of three siblings. His entire family still lives close by, and we see them often. During the summer, we visit Brad’s parents’ house to grill out and swim together in their pool. We always celebrate New Year’s Eve at the family lakehouse, a cozy cabin with room for everyone. Brad’s parents have no grandchildren yet and are excited to have a grandchild they can spoil.

Kalib comes from a big family where he is the middle of three siblings and one of sixteen cousins! Having such a big family meant there was always a birthday party or holiday gathering to attend. As a kid, Kalib especially looked forward to Christmas Eve with the whole family crammed into one house with lots of laughter, food, and games. Kalib’s mom is a children’s librarian and read the most amazing stories to him as a child, a joy she will no doubt continue sharing with your baby. Our niece and nephew are so excited to have a cousin. They cannot wait to welcome your baby to our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

We both come from families with loving parents, and we have always wanted to be parents someday too. We know adoption is the right path for us, and we are ready to make that commitment. Our dream is to find a mother who wants a safe, caring home for her child. We are excited for the opportunity and responsibility of providing that home. We have spent a lot of time with children, from our niece and nephew on Kalib’s side to the kids Brad tutors at an after-school program. As parents, we will do everything in our power to give your child a happy, fulfilling life and endless opportunities. Our families fully support us in this and will surround your child in love.
