Brian & Brian

Family Type: Gay Couple
State We live in: Texas

dear expectant mother

Thank you for taking the time to discover a little about “The Brians” (and Leith), as our friends and family call us. We appreciate and admire your openness and desire to find the perfect family for your child. We know this decision has not come easily for you, and it is not a decision we have taken lightly either. We are prepared to offer our full love, support, and attention to a new addition within our family. We are honored and blessed you have even taken the time to consider us as that family.

One of the greatest freedoms our parents gave us were homes without any preconceived notions of who or what we should be. We have no doubt we will create this same environment for our family, so your child will be nurtured, loved, and supported down whatever path is right for them. The past five years with Leith have been the greatest years of our lives. We were blessed with a spirited little one we have watched learn, grow, and experience new adventures. We know within our hearts that having a larger family is meant for all three of us.

We both come from very different backgrounds, but it has created an extensive network of love and support from our families. We are ready to take this step to become a family of four with the full support and encouragement of our families and friends.

Thank you for your courage, commitment, and hope as we join in this journey together.

-Brian & Brian

About Us

Brian W. grew up as a city kid in California, and Brian P. grew up as a farm boy in small town Iowa. We met through a mutual friend while in Seattle, where we both had relocated for work and school. We’ve been together for over 12 years, were married in 2013, and currently live in Texas. We both work in retail management, which allows for flexible schedules. We are complete opposites of one another, but this allows us to be fully supportive and engaged in each other’s personal interests. Brian W. enjoys being outside cycling, while Brian P. is an avid runner in both half and full marathons. We combine our individual interests by cycling and running simultaneously, bike trailer in tow with our son Leith. When we bought our bike trailer five years ago, we bought a two-seater since we always knew we wanted to have two children.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood right in the center of our city. We are just blocks away from restaurants, grocery stores, multiple parks, and coffee shops. We are zoned to an amazing dual language academy school. Our home is a contemporary townhome. It has an open loft feel with tons of natural light and a private, secure yard for our pets and family to enjoy year round. We have two dogs—Daisy, a Lab mix, and Daphne, a pointer mix—as well as two cats, Bean and Rickie.

Our Extended Family

Travel has always been a focus of our relationship. Both of our families live outside of Texas, so it’s easy to make travel and family the focal point of our lives. The holidays are our busiest time at work, so it is our tradition to travel right after the first of the year to celebrate the holidays with our family.

Brian P.’s extended family almost all live in Iowa. Every time we go home to Iowa, three to four times a year, it’s a family reunion all over again. His brother, his wife, and their three kids live one mile from his parents.

Travel is also a family affair for us. Five years and six continents later, Leith has been on every single trip with us. He may be too young to remember these trips now, but our memories will always be what we did as a whole family. We have combined our travels with Brian P.’s love of running by selecting destination marathons around the world. Our extended families travel with us as a personal cheer squad to enjoy vacation and family time in new and exciting places.

Our Adoption Story

Our upbringings have instilled in us the deep love and support our families have always shown for one another. We’ve always recognized our passion goes beyond the work we do to the people we surround ourselves with. We began the adoption process for our son Leith five years ago. Nine months later, we were able to welcome Leith into our family. He is becoming more and more independent each day. We are ready to begin the journey again—for us, for Leith, and for the family we dream of creating. We both grew up with a brother as a playmate, best friend, and confidant. We cherished those years, and we want Leith to have the same opportunity.
