Bridgette & Luke

Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State We live in: North Carolina

dear expectant mother

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you about our family. We would be honored to support you and walk alongside you at any level you’re comfortable with if you choose us.

Our promise to you, if you bless us with the gift of becoming parents, is to love completely and to support and encourage endlessly. We can’t wait for walks with a stroller, bedtime stories, having meals together, creating memories by traveling, and spending quality time with family. We look forward to celebrating holidays and birthdays and introducing a child to our community.

Our families are excited as we hope to add another family member to love. As a nanny to the same family for ten years, Bridgette’s families are looking forward to supporting us through this process and cannot wait to welcome our future child into their family as well.

Thank you so much for considering us. Your child would become the most important person in our lives. We are beyond ready and excited to start this next chapter.

About Us

We're Bridgette and Luke. We met in 2013 through a dating app and now have been married five years. We love to travel, hike, and take advantage of living on the East Coast. When we're not traveling, we enjoy exploring our city and finding cafes, restaurants, and locally owned shops. We've been here 20+ years and have no plans to move because we love our jobs and are rooted by our family and friends. Bridgette is a nanny to three girls (ages 9, 6, and 18 months), who she has cared for almost all their lives. Luke has ten years at a pharmaceutical company. We always eat dinner together because we believe that is important for strong family relationships.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a quiet and safe cul-de-sac near a state university. Our home is two hours from the beach and three hours from the mountains, and we take full advantage! Every year we take a beach trip, and when it gets unbearably hot, we visit family in the mountains. We are ten minutes from everything: lakes, parks, stores, hospitals/urgent cares, and schools. We are 25 minutes away from Bridgette’s mother, stepfather, and grandmother. Then we are 30 minutes away from Bridgette’s sister and her family. We are very lucky to live so close to family! We have our three cats: Othello, Juliet, and Hamlet. They have been around children and babies. Juliet is very patient and loving. The boys are patient but indifferent.

Our Extended Family

Luke is an only child whose parents live in a neighboring state. We both have family all over the country, from Minnesota to California. We try to see them once or twice a year. Bridgette has four siblings, although three are around fifteen years older, so she is closest to her sister who’s three years older. We both have a lot of cousins, aunts, uncles, and our maternal grandmothers.

Our local family is very busy, but twice a month, we get together for dinner. After a long week of work, school, and extracurricular activities, we can finally relax with no expectations, just being together. Our nieces, on the other hand, who are nine, six, and not yet one, always have energy! We are very involved with them. We take them ice skating, to museums, and to parks. One of our favorite games is “Job Interview.” They take turns asking us questions and hiring us for silly jobs they made up. The jobs are so terrible and gross! We always end up falling over laughing! Another tradition is losing track and buying them too many presents for birthdays and Christmas. That’s what aunties and uncles do!

What Led Us To Adoption

Having children and starting a family was a topic we discussed on our first date. We agreed we would like to have children one day, and we were interested in adopting. Bridgette’s oldest sister and her husband adopted their daughter 18 years ago. She’s smart, happy, and healthy. She’s thrived in school, and we are so proud of the young woman she’s become! Bridgette works with children and has known five children who are happily adopted into loving families. They were adopted internationally, and she started caring for them when they were 13 months old. They’re all young adults who are destined to do great things!
