About Us

Hello! We are Brit and Nik, a couple who try our best to balance our outgoing, social personalities with our love for quiet nights at home. Brittany is a second grade teacher, and Nik is a carpenter, mostly building barns. When Brittany is not in the classroom, she loves to bake, garden, read, and watch movies with her family. Nik is always experimenting with trying new foods on the grill, woodworking, or out fishing with family members. We have two fun-loving dogs we love to take on walks, play with in the yard, or cuddle up with on the couch. Our weeks can be a little busier, but the weekends are a great time for us to unwind and visit friends and family members or relax at home around a bonfire.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a small city in Wisconsin, and our home is located in a welcoming neighborhood surrounded by friendly families and supportive neighbors who are always willing to lend a helping hand. We’re fortunate to have several beautiful parks nearby where we often take our dogs, Posey and Remi, for walks and playtime. Lakes, rivers, and nature trails in nearby forests provide activities year round. We're also close to larger cities that offer a variety of attractions and activities. Day trips to these cities mean we can experience museums, theaters, restaurants, sporting events, and farmers markets. Our home complements our love for both quiet moments and outings, exploring all that Wisconsin has to offer.

Our Family & Friends

Our close-knit family blends Brittany's smaller family, with a few uncles, aunts, and five cousins, and Nik's larger family with four sets of aunts and uncles and eight cousins. These relatives create a lively and supportive group of different generations and personalities. Family gatherings bring us together to celebrate milestones, holidays, and each other's company. These occasions are filled with laughter, storytelling, and delicious food. Cooking and baking are cherished activities that bring us together as we share family recipes and try new ones.

Special relationships, such as the bond with Nik's amazing grandma, are treasured. She brings wisdom, humor, and so much love to our family gatherings. Whether it's a game night, a summer camping trip, or a holiday tradition, these experiences bring us together and create a sense of belonging and home.

As our family continues to grow with nephews, nieces, godchildren, and cousins, each addition brings excitement to our gatherings. We cherish the opportunity to watch these young ones grow, celebrate their milestones, and pass down family values and traditions. Our extended family is a source of love, support, and shared experiences. Together, we celebrate the past, enjoy the present, and eagerly anticipate the future as our family continues to grow.

What Led Us To Adoption

This opportunity fills us with excitement and anticipation as we embark on this journey due to infertility. Adoption has been a part of our family planning discussions alongside the possibility of having our own biological child. As a teacher, Brittany has witnessed the challenges some children face at home, and it has stirred within her a desire to make a difference in a child's life beyond the classroom. We look forward to building a connection with a child, sharing our lives, and creating a sense of belonging for all of us. Our hearts are open and ready to embrace the challenges and joys that come with adoption, knowing there may be ups and downs that ultimately lead to the fulfillment of becoming a family through this journey.
