Family Type: Heterosexual Couple
State we live in: Georgia

dear expectant mother

We would first like to thank you for viewing our profile. We know this may not be an easy decision for you, but we are eternally grateful to you for possibly making our hopes and dreams come true. We have always wanted to adopt and have been overflowing with emotions since this whole process started. We would like nothing more than to help make this process as easy as possible for you with the knowledge that you are giving both your child and us a loving and caring home if you choose us. This is something very new to us, and hopefully we can hold each other's hands as we go through this part of our journey and come out feeling nothing but friendship and love.

We understand what you are going through may not be easy. We want you to know you will not have to endure this alone as long as we are around. Regardless of the situation, we are here to support you and the child you carry and love. We are a team, not just the two of us but all of us. We want more than anything to have a child, and you could be the one to make that a reality for us. We do not take that privilege lightly and promise to always love and care for them no matter the circumstances. Thank you for considering helping us create the family we have always wanted.

About Us

We have known each other since middle school, almost 15 years now. We have always been good friends and started dating in 2017. We were married in 2019. Both of us are active individuals who enjoy playing sports, camping, and spending time with our many friends and family. Ryder is a teacher at an independent school for middle schoolers, and he owns his own media production business. Carly is also a teacher at the same independent school for preschoolers. Ryder was injured in 2016 in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He has not let this slow him down at all! He does many different things, from snow skiing to playing wheelchair softball, and is still 100% independent. We are both coaches as well. Carly coaches volleyball, and Ryder coaches several robotics teams.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful, three-story home with a large, fenced-in backyard, in a great neighborhood in a smaller city in Georgia. Because we have such a large home, we live with Carly’s mother and sister. We all have our own floor and still have plenty of space and support for a child. In fact, we have one room dedicated to our niece and nephew as they spend many weekends with us. Between all of us, we have four amazing dogs: Drogo, Myla, Freya and Danger Daisy. They are all well behaved, are very friendly, and love children. We live in a wonderful community that is set in a very good school district that has many opportunities for children to participate in sports, clubs, and other activities.

Our Extended Family

We are both fortunate to have both of our parents in our lives still and an abundance of extended family. Ryder is the second oldest of six children, and Carly is the youngest of three. We both have great relationships with many of our extended family members, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and more. Usually we spend holidays with one part of our family or the other. If it’s Thanksgiving at Ryder’s dad’s house, then it’s Christmas with Carly’s mother and Ryder’s mother. We are fortunate to have Ryder’s mother and three of his siblings nearby, so we all get together regularly.

We see our mothers and siblings almost daily. Ryder speaks to his father and stepmother on the phone almost daily as well. Carly’s father and stepmother are not as active in our daily lives but are still around semi-regularly. The entirety of our family lives within driving distance. We see our cousins at least once a week and have cousin Christmas every year. Almost 30 members of our family meet up for a yearly beach trip.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always wanted to be parents. After we were married, we jumped straight into trying to start our own family. Our plan was to have a child naturally and then adopt another child. After several years of trying, we realized that was not in our cards. Because of Ryder’s injury, we are unable to conceive. While we are sad about this, we are also thrilled to still have the option of adopting. We have experience with adoption firsthand through our niece who is adopted and has been a part of our family for four amazing years. Being parents is something we want more than anything, and we know this is the right path for us.
