Chadwick & Nicholas

Family Type: Gay Couple
State We live in: Ohio

dear expectant mother

We want to commend your strength and bravery. We know you’re facing a tough decision, but we hope that by getting to know us, you feel a sense of comfort as you approach that decision. We have spent years dreaming of expanding our family and hope you choose us to love your baby and raise them with the same support we were surrounded with growing up.

If you choose us, you can trust that your baby will be loved and cherished by us every step of the way; through the pregnancy, during childbirth, and for the rest of that child’s life, your baby will be loved and supported. They’ll be encouraged to try new things, protected from things that go bump in the night, supported during every sport or extracurricular they’d like to try, and given a shoulder to cry on when they’re sad. We’ll raise them on our shoulders to celebrate their wins and raise their chin if they lose. They won’t just have us loving them with our whole hearts; they’ll have the love of our entire families.

They won’t just have us loving them with our whole hearts; they’ll have the love of our entire families.

-Chadwick & Nicholas

About Us

We’ve been together for almost 15 years and have been married for almost eight! We were both born and raised here in Ohio but didn’t meet until after high school. Nick moved away for a couple years, and we didn’t talk again until one night when we started chatting online. We started dating, and the rest is history. Nick didn’t come into the relationship alone though; he brought his almost two-year-old daughter. We’ve been a family of three ever since. Both of us have worked in the finance industry our entire careers and are natural-born leaders. Nick works for a big bank, while Chadwick works for a credit union. We love to travel. We got married in Las Vegas in 2015 and had our honeymoon in Hawaii.

Our Home & Pets

We live in the same Ohio city we were both born and raised in, in the quintessential American neighborhood. Kids play outside, someone is always walking their dogs, and we all look out for each other. We’re within five minutes of Chadwick’s mom and Nick’s parents. We bought our house almost two years ago, and it’s quickly become “the” house for all family get-togethers. It’s a four-bedroom, two-level home with a beautiful back patio and an in-ground pool. We have lots of family pool parties in the summer! Keeping us company are our two French bulldogs, Hank and Harlow; our miniature schnauzer, Greta; and our cat, Talia. We’re within ten minutes of all the shopping and dining you could ask for, along with parks, bike paths, and newly built schools.

Our Extended Family

We both grew up surrounded by family. Chadwick has two sisters. One sister (who lives in Michigan) has three kids, and his other sister (who lives in town) just welcomed baby number four. On Friday nights, Chadwick’s sister brings her kids to their mom’s house, and we meet them there to hang out. Nick has an older brother we spend time with too. He’s married, and they have a twelve-year-old son who is really close to our daughter.

Combining our families also meant combining our traditions. Growing up, Chadwick always spent Christmas Eve at his grandparents’, and we did this until we couldn’t fit in the house because all of the cousins kept getting married and having children of their own. Now we host Christmas Eve at our house! We also love Halloween and have Chadwick’s sister bring her kids over so the kids can all go out trick-or-treating together. We’re really close to Chadwick’s grandparents. We have dinner with them at least once a month and have taken several trips to Las Vegas with them. Family is incredibly important to us, and our parents and siblings are some of our best friends.

What Led Us To Adoption

From early on in our relationship, we were vocal about how much family meant to us and our desire to expand our own. Nick’s daughter was almost two when we started dating, but we always knew we wanted a bigger family. It was early on when we discussed adoption and how special it is. Chadwick has an uncle and a cousin who were adopted and knows how grateful they both are for being adopted. As we progressed in our careers, we always worked toward the goal of expanding our family, including buying a home with room for another child.
