About Us

With hearts full of excitement and anticipation, we're embarking on the incredible journey of adoption. As a loving couple who craves shared experiences, we're eager to expand our family and fill our lives with laughter, adventure, and love. After years of preparation and reflection, we're now ready to take the next step toward building a life filled with joy and connection. Melissa, a second grade teacher with a passion for education and child development, has dreamed of having a big family since she was 12. Chris, an IT specialist at a children's hospital, feels privileged to be part of an organization that makes a difference in the lives of children. Together we're driven by a shared desire to provide a loving and nurturing environment for our future child. We enjoy hosting parties, playing card games, taking our nephew to parks, going on beach vacations, and spending cozy nights in.

Our Home & Neighborhood

Our home is a two-story, open-layout house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a bonus room. We live in a quiet, diverse neighborhood where everyone feels welcome. Our friendly black Lab, Luna, loves people and has never shown aggression. We enjoy spending time together, whether it's playing frisbee or going for walks. Our home is filled with happy memories and has plenty of space for new ones. We're excited to welcome a new family member and create more memories together. Our hearts are happiest when our families are together sharing stories, laughter, and delicious meals.

Our Family & Friends

Our extended family is an integral part of our lives. Melissa treasures her close bond with her sister and adopted nephew, cherishing their daily conversations and regular updates, which bring immense joy to her life. Her sister’s journey is one of the many examples that has guided our decision to adopt. Her courageous journey has been a powerful inspiration for us, serving as a reminder of the life-changing impact family can have on our lives. Her younger brother, who lives farther away, is still a regular part of our lives thanks to frequent video calls. Her parents, who live nearby, are “dear to us”; we enjoy boating trips and family dinners together. Melissa’s family is warm, faith filled, and enthusiastic about food, particularly Italian cuisine. We’re actively involved in each other’s milestones and make an effort to connect with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chris's parents, who are retired, often travel but enjoy spending time with us when they can. They and his sister live in Florida. We love hosting them for BBQs and card nights. Chris's family cherishes childhood traditions like Christmas Eve dinner, summer camping trips, and family visits. His twin brother lives nearby and shares a passion for DIY projects and landscaping. Chris's family is laid-back and prioritizes quality time together.

What Led Us To Adoption

We both knew before we met each other that we wanted to be parents. Our friends and family members have inspiring adoption stories, and we felt our journey together was calling us toward the path of adoption. While we've had many wonderful experiences as a couple, we’ve had the challenges that come with many years of infertility (surgeries, medications, and various treatments). We know becoming parents will bring new joys and challenges. We're committed to growing together as a team and supporting each other through the ups and downs of adoption and parenthood. We believe adopting is not only an act of love but also an opportunity to build a family that is filled with joy, resilience, and purpose.
