dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We want to start out by saying that the decision you are making to find a family to raise your baby is a brave one. You have many choices as to how you could manage your pregnancy, and we commend you for considering a way that gives the gift of parenthood to a couple longing to be parents. We did not plan for life to go this way, but we believe these kinds of unexpected events are messages that we are meant for something even more wonderful than what we originally thought possible.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something so wonderful. Rest assured, if you choose us, your child will be loved beyond measure. We promise to provide him or her with unconditional love, great experiences, laughter, and support; we will do all we can to help them grow into a strong, kind, and happy individual. We also promise to nurture the naturally unique qualities they are born with.

Thank you for considering us to be the parents of your child. We look forward to getting to know you and beginning the adoption journey.

Warmly,
Chris & Christine

Rest assured, if you choose us, your child will be loved beyond measure.

About Us

We are a unique couple. In a day and age when most people have difficulty finding time in their busy schedules, we lead a more relaxed day-to-day life that leaves plenty of time for fun, work, and reflection. Christine works from home as a licensed art therapist, and Chris is retired from the United States Army and is looking forward to being a stay-at-home dad. Christine enjoys doing anything creative, reading fiction, and attending Mass and her women’s church fellowship group. Chris enjoys anything related to history, working out at the gym, and playing second base on his hometown softball team. We love spending time together outdoors, with friends and family, or just relaxing at home with our cat while watching a movie. Most of all, we value keeping life simple, which for us means little use of technology and more time spent talking and reflecting on life and spirituality.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is in a quiet cul-de-sac in a wooded community with walking trails, pools, and weekly community events for families. It is a single-level home that is very open and airy with many windows that let in a lot of light. Our house backs up to a golf course, and we love to sit on our deck and take in the beautiful and peaceful view. We have great neighbors who look out for each other and are always happy to help or get together and roast s'mores around the firepit. We live just outside the city, where there are many cultural events, parks, and historical sites and museums. We have a three-year-old Burmese cat who is comparable to a puppy in that he likes to play fetch and loves human affection and attention.

Our Extended Family

Our parents and grandparents instilled in us our belief in God and our core values of faith, love, selflessness, and compassion. Before Chris’s mother passed away, Chris moved into his parents’ house to help care for her and to share as much time with her as possible. His brother and father are his best friends and love and support each other every step of the way, and throughout his life, Chris has found much comfort in long conversations about faith with his grandfather who was a Christian pastor for over fifty years. Chris also comes from a very diverse family. His uncle always likes to say they are the United Nations of families, including Puerto Rican, African American, Portuguese, Irish, Japanese, Columbian, and LGBTQ orientations.

Christine, along with her mother, father, and two sisters are all in the medical field / helping profession. Helping and caring for others and a true sense of empathy and concern run in the family. They all enjoy many family traditions they have built on for many years. Christine’s family is of Italian and Polish heritage. She is very proud of her grandfather who served in World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart.

Both families have long-standing traditions, including a summer family reunion, summer vacation in the Poconos, a big Fourth of July party and get-togethers for holidays, birthdays, and the Super Bowl. We cherish the time we spend with our loved ones, sharing hope, laughter, and encouragement. We both come from families with strong values and moral character who have inspired us to be the people we are today.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have been considering adoption for just a short time; our original plan was to get pregnant on our own. However, we’ve come to realize, just as we have many times before, that sometimes life doesn’t go the way you plan. After much discernment, we decided IVF was not for us and felt adoption was our next step on this journey. We both have family members who were adopted and are delighted to grow our family in this very special way.
