dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Please consider us for the opportunity to raise your child. Parenting this child will be a blessing, and we are looking forward to making memories for years to come. We will help him or her with their homework and do our best to prepare them for the real world by arming them with compassion for others and a strong sense of self. We promise to love and protect them unconditionally and guide them through life’s milestones, like learning to drive or graduating from high school or college.

We smile when thinking of future family traditions like picking out a Christmas tree, bringing it home, and decorating it with special ornaments from our shared family adventures and travels. We can imagine morning walks around the neighborhood with a stop at the playground, summers spent swimming and exploring, and many holidays filled with family and food. From their last days in diapers to their first soccer or hockey game, we can envision a life together full of fun, warmth, and joy.

As you consider us to raise your baby, we promise to raise them to be a happy and kind individual who will be showered with love. We understand this is a difficult decision, and we think you are so brave to go through this deeply personal process. Please know we take this very seriously, and it will be the honor of a lifetime to adopt and raise a child.

Thank you,
Chris and Scott

About Us

We are Scott and Chris, and we’ve been together for 12+ years and married for four. We enjoy travel, the outdoors, donuts on Saturdays, and anything on HGTV. Chris met Scott exactly one month after moving to Illinois from Maryland to pursue education for graphic design. Chris is now a creative director for a membership association. Scott is from Illinois and has been in trucking/sales since graduating from college. Both of our families are big parts of our lives, whether spending weekends at the family lake house swimming and cracking jokes or visiting Chris’s family on the East Coast and eating seafood, cooking Italian feasts, or going out on the boat to relax. We are a sarcastic, fun bunch that supports one another through thick and thin and would welcome a child with love, laughter, and lots of “dad” jokes.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a new two-story brick home on a quiet cul-de-sac in Georgia with lots of neighbors with kids. Our home has a big backyard with lots of flowers and plants. We love sitting on our deck looking out into the trees while grilling and listening to music. We’re walking distance from the community pool, tennis courts, and playground. We take daily walks around the neighborhood and can imagine walking with a stroller, exploring all our community has to offer. When we get home, our dog, Gus, will wag his little tail, greeting us with wide eyes and a loving grin. A big family room, open kitchen, and morning room are waiting to be filled with toys and laughter.

Our Extended Family

Our families are extremely excited to see us as parents and would continue to be big parts of our lives as future grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Both sides spend time together and will be an excellent support system.

Scott has two brothers and a sister, and they are very close. Some favorite memories are getting together each year for a pumpkin-themed scary movie weekend or taking fun family vacations to take in hockey games and concerts in Dallas, Detroit, Las Vegas, and other cities. Scott’s parents’ lake house is a central family gathering spot for pontoon rides, jokes, dance parties, and stories by the fire. Scott captains the boat during the day, while Chris is the family grill master at night.

Chris’s parents are retired and plan on moving closer to be part of our child’s life. Chris has one sister who spends time traveling the world for work, always bringing home fun, thoughtful gifts. Chris’s mom is Italian and loves to have family dinners with spaghetti and meatballs. Everyone helps make cookies and homemade apple pie around the holidays, with all in the kitchen with a task, catching up and laughing over spilled sprinkles or apple peels flying across the room.

What Led Us To Adoption

We have always known we wanted a family. It has been really important to us as our relationship has grown stronger over the years. In 2012 we rescued and adopted a black Lab/cocker spaniel mix named Gus and realized we have so much more love to give. We knew one day we wanted to expand our family through the adoption of a child. After getting married and settling into our new home, we are ready to welcome this precious gift into our lives. We would be forever grateful and are excited about the opportunity to adopt.
