Family Type: Gay Couple
State we live in: North Carolina

dear expectant mother

We want to thank you so very much for taking the time to view our profile. We cannot imagine all the thoughts and feelings going through your head and heart right now as you browse through potential families. We know this is not an easy decision to make and hope you will be able to see from our profile what a loving and safe environment we can give your child.

We both have had the fortune to grow up surrounded by cherished friends and family. We would give your child a loving home where they can make memories, share in old family traditions, and create new traditions. Sunny days on the beach with little toes wiggling in the sand, reading favorite bedtime stories, or even just going to the park are the things we look forward to. We will raise your child to know they are loved and protected, they are smart and beautiful, and they deserve every opportunity in life.

Thank you again for taking the time to review our profile. We are hoping you can be the one to help us realize our lifelong dreams of having a child. You would be a blessing to us for allowing us this opportunity.

About Us

Cody works as a physician assistant in family/internal medicine, where he gets to take care of numerous patients, oftentimes whole families. He finds his work to be both fulfilling and rewarding. Ryan is a cake artist at a successful bakery. He loves that his job allows him to express his creativity. We met online about 7.5 years ago, and after a few months of texting, talking, and Skyping each other, we decided to meet in person. One visit was all it took for us to realize we had fallen head-over-heels in love. After a few trips back and forth to each other, Ryan decided to move to North Carolina. Our relationship continued to flourish, and in October 2019 we got married surrounded by our family and friends. We feel so fortunate to have found one another and are hoping to have a baby to add to our loving family.

Our Home & Pets

We live in a beautiful neighborhood, surrounded by kind and wonderful neighbors. It is a diverse community with individuals of various ages, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds with families of all sizes. Our home is a one-story brick house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large bonus room above the attached garage. We have a nice, private backyard offering plenty of room to run and play. We currently have two pet cats. The oldest, Cory, is an eight-year-old who loves to watch birds, take naps, and get back scratches. Our newest addition is Peep, a one-year-old cat. She loves snuggles, sitting in the window, and playing with her big brother. They are very warm and loving pets and get along well with our friends’ children.

Our Extended Family

Our families have played a huge role in our lives. Ryan’s family still lives in Illinois but visits several times per year. We also enjoy our road trips and flights out to see them. He has a very large family with two siblings and many cousins with their own small children. Cody’s parents live a little under an hour away. They are all so ready to have a baby to spoil rotten.

In addition to our biological families, we are both blessed with a loving chosen family of our closest friends, each of whom are so excited about our decision to adopt. Each of our friends have been in our lives many years, some since kindergarten. We spend a lot of time together, including holidays, birthdays, and summers, and have been there for one another through all of the ups and downs. They are just waiting to have another honorary niece or nephew to love and support.

What Led Us To Adoption

We both always knew we wanted to be dads someday. Growing up as gay males in rural towns, it was sometimes hard to imagine this desire becoming a reality. In thinking about adoption, we wanted to make sure we had plenty of time with just the two of us to grow the foundation of our family so we were mentally and emotionally ready to take on all of the responsibilities of parenthood, something we do not take lightly. We know we are ready to give our all to our child and want to work our hardest to make sure they blossom into the person they are meant to be, all in a loving and nurturing environment. We are so ready and excited to become dads!
