dear expectant mother

Dear Mother,

We can only imagine how overwhelming and emotional this journey must be for you, and we want to start by saying how deeply we admire your strength. Thank you for even considering us to be part of your baby’s future—it’s a gesture that humbles us beyond words.

We know you’ve likely read many letters, and while each one may blur into the next, please know that behind ours is a genuine desire to honor you and the love you have for your child. That’s why we begin with “Dear Mother”—because that title is yours forever. Our goal is not to replace you but to carry forward your love by raising your child with care, warmth, and the values our own families instilled in us.
We understand that no decision could be more personal or more difficult. Though we can’t truly know how you feel, our hearts are with you. If and when you’re ready, we’re here for you—to listen, to support, and to walk this road with compassion and respect.
While much of the adoption process involves paperwork and planning, what keeps us going is the hope of giving your child a life filled with love, laughter, and belonging. We may never find the perfect words to express everything we feel, but please know this: we see you, we honor your bravery, and we would be forever grateful for the trust you place in us.

One of the first conversations we had was about children, and we both came to the consensus that we wanted to be fathers.

Our Lifestyle

Hi! We’re Cody and Trenton. Cody has worked as a service advisor at a local dealership for the past nine years, while Trenton is a financial crimes analyst for a bank and works from home most of the month. We enjoy a steady, balanced routine and are active members of Cody’s childhood church, where we attend services each Sunday.

Our evenings are usually spent cooking dinner together and winding down with our favorite hobbies—Cody is often working on a home project, while Trenton loves to relax with an audiobook and some crocheting. On our days off, we love heading to the mountains for a camping trip or soaking up the sun at the beach.

We met online in 2016 and hit it off instantly. One of our very first conversations was about our shared dream of becoming dads. We got married in 2018 and just celebrated our Sixth anniversary with a trip to Dollywood, a tradition we look forward to each year.

Our Home & Neighborhood

In 2021, we bought Cody’s parents’ very first home—a charming two-bedroom house built in 1924. We’ve loved putting our own touches on it, especially the newly updated kitchen. Nestled in a tight-knit community, many of our neighbors are family, making it feel extra warm and welcoming.

Our backyard is a little haven, where Trenton tends to a garden full of fruits, veggies, and roses. We’ve also started growing apple trees and are eager to see them bloom.

Sharing our home are two beloved pets: Patrick, our sweet cat who showed up one night and never left (we lovingly call him Muffin), and Chesney, our standard poodle. He’s playful when he wants to be, but most days he’s perfectly content snoozing by our feet.

Our Family & Friends

Our extended families are very different, each special in its own way. Cody’s family is large and close-knit, with over 40 members we regularly see for birthdays, holidays, and celebrations. His parents live just down the street, and his brother is only a few minutes away. With around 20 cousins, 12 aunts and uncles, and his maternal grandparents, Cody’s family loves to come together for everything—from t-ball games to weddings. There’s always laughter, food, and a strong sense of togetherness.

Trenton’s family is smaller but deeply supportive. In recent years, he has experienced the loss of several loved ones, which has brought his remaining family even closer. He was raised by his stepfather, who legally adopted him and is the only father he’s known. Trenton has two half-brothers, three stepbrothers, two aunts, one uncle, and four cousins. While they may not gather for every milestone, their love and encouragement are constant and heartfelt.

Both families are eager to welcome a child with open arms, ready to offer support, love, and a sense of belonging.

What We Love About Each Other

We love each other because we’ve built a life grounded in shared values, deep friendship, and mutual respect. From the moment we met in 2016, we connected over our hopes for the future—especially our dream of becoming fathers. We balance each other in the best ways: Trenton’s hands-on creativity complements Cody’’s calm and thoughtful nature. Whether we’re cooking dinner, enjoying quiet hobbies, or adventuring outdoors, we genuinely enjoy each other’s company. We support one another through life’s challenges and celebrate each other’s wins, big or small. Our love is rooted in everyday moments, laughter, and the comfort of knowing we’re truly home when we’re together.
