dear expectant mother

Hello, Expectant Momma!

We want to recognize the incredible and gracious opportunity you are not only giving your child but possibly our future family. Thank you for your selflessness and bravery to consider an adoption plan.

Let us share our vision with you. We believe no accomplishment is too small for recognition. We are eager to attend every play, game, recital, and field trip. Whether they aspire to grow up to be a ballet dancer, a food truck owner, or the next President, we will encourage them every step of the way. We will nurture a love for learning and show them that a proper education can open a world of doors for them in the future. We will teach them to be genuine, honest, humble, and unique. We promise to seek adventures, whether that is through reading to them every night, camping, or going on family bike rides. We have a love for travel and are eager for them to experience different cultures around the world. We are excited to see the awestruck wonder in their eyes when they see the Eiffel Tower sparkle in the night sky and to hear them giggle at the sound of howler monkeys near the Mayan ruins in Belize.

Please know if you choose us to raise your child, we would be honored and they will be cherished and loved unconditionally, every day of forever.

Please know if you chose us to raise your child, we would be honored and they will be cherished and loved unconditionally, everyday forever.

About Us

We are John and Cortney, and we met four years ago on a blind date set up through our mutual friends. Our friendship was instant, and the spark between us grew stronger as we got to know one another. John is genuine, hardworking, and outdoorsy and has a “dad joke” for every occasion. By day, John is a healthcare facility administrator, and by night, he is a master chef in our home. Cortney is easygoing, organized, caring, and creative. She works remotely as a client success manager. When we aren’t working, we enjoy riding bikes, taking leisurely strolls, adventure seeking, and traveling. When a lazy day rolls around, we make popcorn and cuddle up for a movie. For solo time, John enjoys woodworking in the garage, and Cortney enjoys curling up with a good book.

Our Home & Pets

We have two pups, Harlee and Georgia. Harlee is a 10-year-old chihuahua who loves cuddling up under a blanket when she isn’t playing with her toys. Georgia is a 1.5-year-old border collie mix who loves the outdoors, giving kisses, and napping on the couch. We recently built a home in a quiet, charming neighborhood in the heart of Texas. Our home has three bedrooms, a nursery and a study. The media room is the perfect place for sing-a-longs or cuddling up for a movie. We have a large, covered back patio with a picnic area, and our backyard is shaded with plenty of room for a treehouse or jungle gym. Within walking distance, we have access to multiple pools, splash pads, parks, and playgrounds.

Our Extended Family

Both families are counting down the days and are elated for us to be parents. Our families are scattered across the United States and Europe but are primarily in Texas, California, and Washington. When we can’t make it out to their neck of the woods for our annual trip, they are happy to come to ours.
Cortney comes from a large family with four siblings, three nephews, and eight cousins. She is extremely close with her siblings despite the large age gaps and considers them her best friends. In fact, Cortney’s oldest brother was her “Bro of Honor” at our wedding. John comes from a family with one sibling, a niece and nephew, and six cousins. Although smaller in size, they are close knit.

We love celebrating and decorating for the changing seasons throughout the year. Our favorite tradition we are most looking forward to sharing with our little one is decorating sugar cookies on Christmas Eve. We decorate sugar cookies and then pass them out to our neighbors, coworkers, family, and friends. This was a tradition in John’s family, and Cortney happily joined in on our first Christmas together.

What Led Us To Adoption

Our decision to adopt was something we had both been toying with individually prior to meeting. After trying to conceive for a year and numerous failed pregnancies, we discovered Cortney required a hysterectomy. As we left the doctor’s appointment, we both wholeheartedly agreed God’s plan for us was to grow our family through adoption.
