dear expectant mother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Whatever has led you here, the important thing is that you are here! We are empathetic toward the emotions you must be feeling, and are so grateful you are taking the time to consider us as the adoptive parents of your baby. We are open to whatever kind of relationship you would like to have, and no matter what, your baby will know what a brave person you are.

If we know anything about life, it's that it isn't fair and it isn't easy. We have had our own trials and tribulations with child loss and then battling and beating breast cancer. We decided on adoption because we know from personal experience that family is so much more than blood.

We are so thrilled to finally get to be parents, and we have so much love, kindness, and knowledge to give to a child. Zach will be the dad who plays, teaches hands-on skills, and gets the family outside. Courtney will be the mom who makes sure academic needs are being met, laughs are had, and that there is always someone to talk to. We will both support and encourage growth in whatever interests them, and there will always be fun and warmth in our home.

With love,
Courtney and Zach

We are open to whatever kind of relationship you would like to have, and no matter what, your baby will know what a brave person you are.

About Us

Hello! We are Courtney and Zach. We met and fell in love in 2017, and we were married in 2021. We are beyond grateful to have found each other. Courtney has been an elementary school classroom teacher for eight years, and she loves helping children grow academically and emotionally. She loves reading, jigsaw puzzles, and organizing. Zach is a senior project manager who manages teams of people in the power generation and petrochemical sector. He loves fishing, being on his boat, and renovating and updating areas of the house. Together, we love traveling, learning about history, watching movies, cuddling with our dog, Dixie, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family. We are also licensed foster care providers, and have enjoyed our time with the many wonderful children who have stayed with us in our home.

Our Home & Neighborhood

We live in a suburb in beautiful Minnesota with our nine-year-old yellow Lab, Dixie. We adore our dog, and we often joke, "It's her world, and we're just living in it." Our neighborhood is quiet and safe, with three parks with playgrounds within walking distance. Our home is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom split-level home built in 2007 with a large backyard that Dixie enjoys. We purchased our home in 2019 and renovated it ourselves. We are conveniently located by various school districts that are all highly ranked within the state. We are located between two large cities that have many activities and resources for children of all ages.

Our Family & Friends

We have many family and friends whom we see often and who would love and care for a baby as much as we would. Courtney's family likes going to events in the city, and Zach's family likes doing outdoor activities. We spend time with friends often, and many of them have children as well.

Courtney is the oldest sister of three, and she has a lot of love for her younger siblings. We are very close with her sister, and she has lived with us during college breaks. She has an extended family that we spend many holidays with, just like Courtney has since childhood. She can't wait until we have a child to hunt Easter eggs in her aunt's house just like when she was younger.

Zach is the middle sibling of three. They are a close-knit family whom we see almost every weekend. Zach's brother is married with two young children, which makes us an Auntie and Uncle. We love spending time with our niece and nephew, and we hope to give them cousins to play with. Zach has many extended family members whom we also see on various occasions.

What Led Us To Adoption

We tried starting our own family, and immediately after a painful pregnancy loss, Courtney got breast cancer. The cancer is now gone and she is in wonderful health, but the treatments have impacted our chances of conceiving a baby. That's when we knew adoption was the way we wanted to go. We became foster parents with hopes of adopting a child that way, and we met a child we adored, but unfortunately she was unable to be adopted. We are hoping a birth mother like you will be the one who can help us finally start our family!
