Craig & Jose

Family Type: Gay Couple
State we live in: Louisiana

dear expectant mother

First and foremost, we thank you for being such a strong individual who deserves the utmost respect for considering the options that lie before you. Without your consideration, the parental dreams of others, including ours, would go unanswered. So for all of your sacrifices, we are eternally grateful. We would also like to assure you that you are not alone.

Sharing memories through traditions, vacations, and weekly family gatherings is what we hold most dear. Coming from different cultural backgrounds, we understand the importance of these family traditions. We spend a lot of our time around children by volunteering with youth organizations, so we are definitely up to the challenge of making sure your child has every opportunity afforded to them, educationally and spiritually. We assure you that a home full of warmth, diversity, and experiences awaits them.

If given the chance, we cannot wait to take on this adventure with you, supporting you every step of the way. Again, thank you for making such a brave and selfless decision. We look forward to the possibility of tagging along on your journey to bringing your special gift into this world, who is already loved more than they will ever know.

Without your consideration, the parental dreams of others, including ours, would go unanswered. So for all of your sacrifices, we are eternally grateful.

About Us

Our journey together started eighteen years ago after finding one another through Yahoo personals. Yes, that was a thing! After meeting in person, we were inseparable and have been together ever since, finally getting married three years ago. We were both born and raised in Southeast Louisiana to hardworking families built on trust, encouragement, and love. Jose started his career at a young age, eventually receiving a degree in computer networking, and expanded his skills to start his own security alarm company. Craig followed his passion for music and his desire to help others succeed by becoming a highly respected designer, adjudicator, and educator in the performing arts. We both also work for a non-profit youth organization that promotes individuality, leadership, and performance.

Our Home & Pets

Our home is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood just outside the city limits of a historic downtown known as the strawberry capital of the world. Our three-bedroom house tends to get a lot of attention around the holidays as we like to go all out with flashing lights and music. Another thing we love about our home is the spacious backyard that is bordered by a wooded area, not to mention we live in a cul-de-sac so there isn’t much street traffic. We also have two loving pups, Atticus and Inky, that are like our children and spoiled in every way.

Our Extended Family

We truly value family and uphold our bonds through several traditions. When we purchased our home thirteen years ago, the idea of leaving our parents and childhood homes was rather daunting. Although both of our parents live relatively close by, we came up with the idea to alternate every Sunday with each other’s immediate family. All of our siblings and their spouses, nieces, nephews, and parents spend the day together and enjoy a home-cooked meal.

We also spend every holiday, birthday, and special occasion with each side of our families. One of our favorite traditions is making tamales on Christmas Eve! Each family member has their own job in the process. Craig’s job has always been taking care of the kids, but now that they are old enough to help, he needs a new job!

Both of our families are extremely excited about us bringing home a new little one. We look forward to sharing these traditions and starting new ones as our family continues to grow.

What Led Us To Adoption

The idea of being parents has always been a lifelong dream, but growing up as gay men, we felt we might never have that opportunity. As the world seems to become more accepting of our lifestyle, we felt it was now or never. After doing some extensive research, we felt adoption was the best route for us. The idea of providing for a child in every way, giving them a loving home, and being called “Dad” are just a few of the most rewarding reasons for us to want to pursue adoption.
